Automagically connecting a team with voice comms built into the game client would solve so much of this.
Wait .. what?

Vets VS Newbies is a bit misleading for a post that is essentially yet another complaining about premades thread.
First point I would like to make,Intergrating voice over IP and executing a manuver/plan/tactic as an effective means to attain a victory is a skill. Therefore even if someone had a 100% win ratio ( not a reality if you have played more than a handful of matches) and VOIP contributed to that. The effective use of VOIP is a skill as valid as operating a keyboard and mouse.
My next point.
4 man premades is the cap in the PUG ques.As such every time a 4 man premade wins 4 other players also win.
These 4 others can in fact be the very same people who complain about 4 man premades.
Just saying the knife does in fact cut both ways.
For my next point.
As a newbie I highly recomend seeking out a group of experienced players who do use a third party voice over I.P. aplication.
This is by far the quickest way I have found to learn the ropes on any and all aspects of MWo.
Having access to players who have been here since the closed beta and having their experiences made available is a potent tool. Please consider making use of it.
Being in an active premade group is in my opinion the best way to learn what works and what does not.You gain insites on how premades function the tactics used and even the mech builds used.
All of this is ammunition.Watch learn and apply what you learned and you will improve.

GHQ, I think the game MUST have small groups allowed, and therefore MUST have some pugs filling in the gaps to make even teams. Should both teams be balanced with a team, ideally yes, but the current player base is too small to support it. I'm under no illusions regarding the value of communication, but I think some people over-estimate the communication within the spectrum of groups.
What everyone is missing is that the player base is small because of it, or at least not nearly as big as it could be. You shouldnt use the lack of participants to justify not including a solo queue, when it is the imbalance created by the "teams versus rookies" random queue which has turned so many would be mech warriors away from mech warrior online.
To say mere communicaton is the only difference between the two groups, is a gross over-simplification of the issue.
But hey, it's your bed, so you can make it how you want. Can't say you havn't been warned 100 times over.

Using teamspeak is a skill? Wow.
4 public players benefit from the public player stomp so its ok? Wow.
And as a wrap up you say, newbie get on teamspeak. Classic.
I bet that from now until the day the servers go off line, your ilk will be spinning the same B.S.
