So i bought one of each, went into a round, hit the buttons, and the little indicator lights went off, but nothing happened, no map brought up to target, no bombs falling, nothing. And when I went back to the mechlab after a round...they were gone.

Hotfix?

Are you sure you read the Dummies guide to Artillery/Airstrike, included in the patchnotes?

At the time you press the button, where your cursor is on the screen is where they target, AFAIK.

Will test the basic c-bill version right now :P

well i could have sworn it was supposed to be aimable with your map...oh well.

the arty strike still doesn't do anything either way. and whats the point of having indirect fire support if you have to have line of sight on it?

What about dropping bombs on people cowering behind buildings and hills?

I would imagine that if they are around a corner you aim at the ground close to where you think they are with an artillery strike. If they are behind a hill or building and not close to a corner, you aim an air strike at the spot they are hiding behind and count on the "carpet" pattern of the bombing to reach them.

Ok, worked fine. Loaded them up on a fast jenner with jump jets on Alpine, so worked well. The whole enemy team was hiding behind a ridge, dumped both Arty and Airstrike right on top of them.

Did ****** all damage, but maybe made them scatter. Saw my reticule flash as the bombs dropped on them so I know some hits were registered,

Big red plume of smoke came up, then a few seconds later the bombs fell.

Unfortunatly, my mini map, chat, everything was bugged that round so couldn't even let team know or capatilise on it. A few DC's in the round also. So maybe an issue with servers so soon after patch, we'll see on further play's.

no matter how you look at it guys... these types of things are "easy button" it doesnt matter if i can pull up a map and say strike here, or if i point and click strike here. Its all the same. Its a weapon that you can call in to do easy damage.

The only issue i have right now is, they look really cheap lol. Where is the cool looking fighter that does the air strike? and the Artillery strike looks just not deviating lol

and guys... word of advice, buy them and try them in the training grounds before you go into a real match. at least if you frack up and point and click and drop them on yourself or in an area you did not intend to... its only being done in the training grounds and you dont lose them either. you still have them after you come out of the training grounds.

Does the strike go at your arm or torso crosshair?

and yoseful....me with ppc's is "easy button"...strikes are just for fun i think, they don't do any viable damage

These are strictly available to break up tight bunker turtle style tactics, if they can even be called tactics. You know, D5 on Caustic and any other points that people huddle around for warmth and wait for the enemies patience to break.

That doesn't promote good game play. Getting people moving and spreading out does.

A dopey comment for sure, not an easy button, just some semblance of realism. If you have to have a line of sight to use the artillery/air strike, they are failboat already. Maybe useful for a withdrawal to provide covering fire, but that's about it. I guess if you're camping out at a conquest base, you could deny it for a few seconds, but who sits around waiting for an opportunity like that? I'm not going to waste a module slot on a one-shot line-of-sight-only weapon.

Some of you are just trolls, sad trolls who could be helping the game to progress with feedback yet all you can do is jump on players for little mistakes.

The OP made an easy mistake with an assumption hundreds will make. Even then no one laid it out clear for anyone else who reads the post thinking the same as the OP, the crappy replies continued.

For others. Strikes are used by aiming at the targeted Mech.

Oh the OP doesn't need to read patch notes to play or be a huge fan of the game, no one does. Just because you read patch notes it doesn't make you special or smart. Actually maybe it is more likely to indicate your special!
