Everyone complains that the Heat is just Blue world. So they paint it White. You guys think this is a fix?

I like the crisper lines but I kinda liked the previous color scheme over just white.

1. Range of that vision is capped.
2. Mechs no longer stand out Blue against a gery background. They are now white against grey background. Less obvious.

It's not the color they changed that will matter.

It's the fact that thermal vision no longer has an infinite depth of field. Haven't played the patch yet, the claim was 600m max by the dev team. Sniping will become more of a guessing game.

It's supposed to be more realistic...apparently modern thermal vision is like this.

I like it. Everything past a certain range is just black, but it does make mechs more noticeable. It even flares up hot spots to boot.

I have been told that the new thermal is what military grade thermal looks like (?).

There will be further adjustments coming to Thermal vision, it is closer to what is intended but not final.

Any chance we will get modules one day to increase range or other effects on NV and Heat view?

Hopefully not, as that gives very a significant advantage to any mech with one more module slot over the rest.

If you can somehow stay with the blue colorscheme, while also achieving the intended effect of making thermal not the "go-to" vision mode extraordinairre, that would be awesome.

Or even let us select greyscale / bluescale / greenscale or whatever.

Just a thought.

Eh, I disagree. Although maybe this will assist in the vast amount of sniping...

Really? Hmmmmm.... almost intentional. However I don't understand why certain ECM mechs also have the most Module slots. :P

I like the concept behind the change, but I dislike that this indirectly buffs ECM.

Nah, it's never the intention to significantly imbalance the game. Modules should only ever give a slight benefit, not something game-breaking like superior vision modes. It would be yet another mandatory module, yet some mechs have only 1-2 slots, so they can't make more than 1-2 modules so essential that running them puts you at a distinct or significant disadvantage. Any tangible enhancement to visual modes would automatically do that.

Just tested it out and I still think it just gimps long range combat, 'cause you see jack with tv. I am ok with impaired vision on caustic, but gimping tv on Alpine is...well... ********.

You can not see mechs on Alpine with your Mark 1 eyeball? It is that moving black dot on white that is shooting at you.
