9. Pings all over the place (only started after patch;normally solid 30ms)
10. Warping/Teleporting; sometimes entirely across map. Will have screen view rottate suddenly when not moving or any user input.

That should be a cockpit item. MC "spectator jammer", or "instant 1 man disco party"

Updated NVidia drivers to version 314.22 because of the note about drivers. Now I crash to desktop about 1 or 2 minutes into a match. Never had this problem before the patch or driver update. Disappointing. Not a slap but this is the worst patch I have experienced so far for this game. I love the game and buy MC ($90 so far) but this is a turn off.

I gotta kinda agree, but kinda not. It seems their testers don't find any bugs, or they do but push the patch anyways. I personally find it hard to belive that they just miss these bugs that hit so many people. Almost every match has someone who annouces they have a bug or dc's. We don't know if the dc is a bug for sure, but still. If a patch causes new problems, hold off. It wouldn't be so bad if the old problems weren't still around. That being said, it's annyoing, but i still play.

The best advice I saw was to NEVER play on patch day. Unfortunately for me, I play when I have time and work the rest of the time. This kind of thing can definitely turn people away from what otherwise is a really fun game.

PGI and PROFESSIONAL should never be used in the same sentence.

What patch?! What are you all talking about?

There is no patch. There was no patch.

This is an April fool joke. Isn't it obvious? Common. You got to see it.

1. The new mech is just a money whoring machine instead of... you know: An actual BETA GAME progress addition.
2. Some of the most dumb bugs of all are back again. With a vengeance. HUD bugs, target lock bugs, map bugs, graphics bugs...
3. There is absolutely no content at all that is actually new.
4. LRMs are still broken and useless without any comment what they are planing to do.
5. ECM is still... the same. Also no comments. Heck, not even much in the way of a roadmap any more. Most of the time we have to play guessing games.
6. I... could go on and on and on.
7. I think I will just cry a little.
8. Or not. This game is heading for burnout and extinction. Well deserved.

I like the fact that it's debateable if this is "The Worst" patch ever, when I and my 2 buddies couldn't get through one match with out being crippled by bugs.

If there was a worse patch (in any game) I can't think of it. But at least we got a representative to mock the OP instead of providing feedback or addressing the issue....

PGI makes it REALLY hard to like them as a company. They need to take a look at Star Citizen and League of Legends for how to communicate with their community.

2 weeks? That might be a mistake on their part, alot of people might move on in 2 weeks.
They can not leave the game in an unplayable state for that long.

Beta tested MW2 MW3 MC1 MC2 and was communicating with Mitch G (Paingod) when they were doing some of the workup on MW5 before Microsoft nerfed it into MechAssault...and later Chromehounds.

This problem with the patch is old news..,saw the same kind of stuff in MW4 beta and later. It stems from the fundamental problems with the PC operating environment...ie a plethoria of graphic cards.... You simply cannot write effective code that will work on all that diversity... That's why Microsoft ported the whole thing over to XBOX 36o in the first place. One graphic card...simple to write for.

With mecha you get amazing games like Chromehounds....in addition, the XBOX controller is vastly superior to anything you do with the PC...I personally use a joystick/mouse and have since MW3...but after using the XBOX controller for 4 years with chromehounds...and having even more modability in the mechs...and more options with the pulldowns...I find MWO a distinct step down in terms of control and playability...

Chromehounds...which was MW5 with nations instead of sectors...and different apperances with the same operating styles...was amazing...huge playable maps in which you had 8 man teams/16 man matches...with differentiated play roles...etc, All the battletech heat, cost...etc was built in. In addition with XBOX you have built in communication for team chat.

While I wish the MWO development team well....frankly, I would be very suprised if they don't port this whole game over to XBOX or Playstation....It's built for it. Personally, I would just love to go back to having the two tiny joystick controls on my controler to handle both turning and rotation... It simply works out much better than the keyboard/joystick/mouse mess you are stuck with as far as a PC environment

Anyway...I will play this game regardless...because I am addicted to Mecha...

Damn, every 3rd or 4th patch this game becomes totally uninteresting to play for another 2 weeks when you see that important bugs are not fixed and more new / old bugs appear.

Back in early beta, I played, got annoyed by the bugs and gave proper feedback.

Now I am just tired and try to wait for the patches, that make me feel convinient to play this game.

EDIT:

Gave the patch a try for 1 game:

1. Could not send chat messages as the enter key did not work
2. When tabbing for player stats to see how many are killed / alive I only received flickering
3. 2 Mechs in my team were not classified in that tab, mech field was left blank
4. When returned to mechlab, I had the wonderful memory allocation for xxx bytes Cryengine error.

Wanted to buy a Heavy Metal, now I will pass for 2 weeks as my nerves costume is just not strong enough to take bad beta patches anymore. After Many many months of testing, I am feeling tired and looking forward to a more stable product that prioritizes stability and comfort before aesthetics/ moneymaking.

I understand that PGI needs to cash in on this product and I am willing to pay, but that they need a very long open beta to finance the final product while the players seem to replace any Q&A team just feels tiresome after a while.

Will give it a shot after the next hotfixes or patch, but for now I have plenty of other games, that work fine and are actually fun to play as I do not have to cope with old and new bugs every patch.

Best of luck fixing all those errors introduced by the last 3 patches, when the product is more stable, I'll be back and support the game more.

hey, pGI, I want my fps back. Before the patch, I had a stable 25+ fps, now i get an unplayable 10 fps. I want my old fps back. Either that, or my money.

I agree that I've found bugs in this patch, the same as you. But what is that comment supposed to mean?

I must agree: I cannot remember any patch in any game that broke so many things simultaneously.
  • The worst part is constant crash to desktop - on ATI card with latest drivers.
  • HUD bugs galore, especially missing friend / foe indicators and all kinds of map bugs
  • 4 FPS bug has returned: I believe it is triggered by either night or thermal vision; a shutdown / restart cycle of the mech will cure for a couple of seconds
  • lag and rubberbanding are still uncontested
  • various weapons do not score damage at point blank from optimal range: 3 srm6 to a stationary atlas' rear center torso from 40 m away - no miss - do 0 (ZERO) damage not only to rear center torso but absolutely no damage anywhere; double PPCs to the rear of a hunchback from 250 m away, reticule turns red but no damage registers anywhere, same with AC/10 at 350 m
  • chat completely gone: I can read what others write but cannot write anything myself
If you took some illiterate imbeciles off the street they could not deliver such trash code PGI calls a patch!

Just started playing a couple days ago, myself. Got through quite a few matches with nothing going wrong except that someone let me into the cockpit of a 'Mech. After the patch, though, there have been quite a few issues. And given that they're all random, I unfortunately cannot explain how to duplicate them. (On a side note, I DO have the latest drivers for my video card.)

1) No Match ending/rewards. Mech is stuck in match afterwards. Occasionally, deselecting it from my ready list in the 'Mech Bay and reslotting it will free it up. The no rewards thing kind of sucks, given that time is spent in the matches, but I don't really think there's any way to compensate for that. After all, the stats don't update, so according to the databases, we weren't really there. This is by far my biggest issue with this patch, because win or lose, the time spent in match should be counted.

2) No spectate ability. As a new player, I die. A lot. I spectate after I'm dead because I'm trying to see what tactics people are using to avoid my fate. So when I randomly circle my 'Mech like a vulture after I've had my head or torso destroyed it's kind of meh.

3) UI bugs. Blank mini-map/main maps, maps that show my torso/legs facing one direction constantly (though the arrow turns and the grid advances, it looks like I'm always facing the way I dropped in), rainbow grids...I even had one where I couldn't see my weapon loadout. This was sort of aggravating because my one purchased 'Mech was stuck in a previous game so I was using a trial and didn't have the weapon groups memorized.

4) Nightvision. Randomly turns itself off. Irritating in the middle of a fight, to say the least.

5) Random disconnects.Got out of a match about 45 minutes ago where it was 8-5 due to 3 start-of-match disconnects on our team. Whoops.

I'm sure there are more that I haven't encountered yet. I have loved MechWarrior from the first time I played it on the SNES (A,L,L,Y your way to victory!) and the RPG. But I will not put money into a game where 50% or more of my gaming experience is bugtastic.

I love MechWarrior. I love that there's a FPS Online MechWarrior. But you need to make it worth the time and money you want us to put into it. Please fix these issues ASAP.
