Just abysmal, why bother putting junk like this mode out at all?

Better than it was before, maybe even good.

I will remap night vision to where thermal was and dump thermal entirely. Thermal vision is now a fail.

Heat vision is intended to be for short range low light fighting, not long range sniping. Night vision is intended to be for navigation during low light with some ability to detect enemy mechs visually.

The key words here;

DURING LOW LIGHT

Thermal vision is now viable for medium and short range combat when visibility is low..

Night vision is great for navigation but not good for mech spotting ..

Normal vision is only vision viable for long range combat..

I like it.

Because they apparently want people brawling. Not using ERPPC, ERLL, AC2, etc.

The only thing has become clearer is the reason for the miniscule River Sh*tty maps. Unless they improve advanced zoom greatly, it IS a large energy weapon nerf from hell.

so, will you be using night vision in a bizzard, or you just going to go for regular blind?

OP is upset because thermal and night vision don't work well on a hot map in the day time.

Makes perfect sense. I mean, it's not like Frozen City or RCN are the (respective) maps these visions modes are intended for and would be good maps to test these vision modes on...

umm, snipeing still works just fine, no issues at all. it just means you NEED TO EFFING SPOT THEM WITH YOUR EYEBALLS AND NOT COLORS.

The devs themselvs said they wanted people to stop playing Bluewarrior online. hence the greyscale HV.

Heaven forbid now you need to actually SEE your enemy and pick them out amongst the rocks.

Because advanced zoom is so usefull and wonderfull? Wish yall had to pay 2 mil each for your favored grainy, messy, limited slot, range vision mode.

You don't need advanced zoom to snipe. the Normal zoom works just as well. Learn to snipe with the normal vision and you can do wonders.

It kind of fits battletech lore. Prior to clan invasion inner sphere combat was very much medium and short ranges. Targeting computers, advanced optics, missile guidance took a major tech loss due to centuries of Succession Wars.

On a practical note. Bluewarrior online reminds me of CGA graphics and was a necessary evil prior to the patch for some. I used it at times.

Dont worry, clan mechs will probably have better optics and targeting.

My Radeon 6870 and 22 inch LCDs thank you PGI!

And on River Sh*tty Night? Or intermittent blizzard Snow? Seeing as how, ya know, we can't select (or deselect) any particular map.

Kinda like in real life huh? Don't hear of many snipers getting off that 2Km shot in a blizzard now do you?

Don't see many zillion dollar, 100 ton mechs with 1200 meter capability weapons stomping around either.

Nope, so my suggestion would be to diversify your builds.
