So.. ok the plans for CW seem awesome or at least pretty nice. So sorry for the things that just happened back there. Can we still be friends? Perhaps we can still work it out?

:)

Holy crap... An actual apology? I'm... Well. I'd just assumed apologies were anathema to MWO forumites. Even when proven wrong, most just belligerently stick to their guns and find a different way to decry whatever it is they think PGI are currently ruining (I've heard plastic furniture is next on the cards).

Wow. Have a nice, juicy like.

I stand behind everything I said, because i'm an adult and put it across in a measured and meaningful way.

They also didn't answer any of my concerns.

The CW information that were in the video's are really nothing new to the table... maybe some info on the clan's coming AFTER release was new. Everything else has already been mentioned across various sources... what the interview still didn't address were any of the systems and ground work for CW...

I'm still awaiting a formal PGI post on this disaster of self-making (after all the original author went off a recorded interview so something was said), as well as a fully detailed post on the systems of CW, their implementation timing and what they interact and improve/build on the CW and MWO experience.

This new UI 2.0 also needs further clarification because at the moment even 'bread-crumbing' new players through the mwo client doesn't mean that the experience they receive is going to be much more positive then face planting most trial mech pilots receive in their first 25 games.

Am I sorry? No because they still haven't done anything to answer our doubts, all they've achieved is closed a series of posts where they were starting to notice they were getting overwhelmed by the community response.

Don't really think they have closed a lot of our concerns. They may not like how some of the community gets nasty but it tends to happen when you are sold on an idea of everything being attainable through free play and then it is in talks to reneg on that plan.

I don't mind if PGI wants to make money. In fact, I hope they do. But I don't think segregating parts of the meta game off to only paying players is the way either. I know Bryan said on twitter that we would still be in a merc corp even if we weren't on premium time but I still don't like the idea of 1 time setup fee through real money for merc corps.

Their concern is floods of 1 player merc corps. If that is the issue then it sounds like they will make it cost prohibitive to setup a merc corp. Not cool, because then you either have to have the money or have a benefactor in your merc corp.

If you don't make it cost prohibitive then you will still see the 1 player merc corps. Although I'm not sure how this is a concern other than an issue of size on the backend database server. It's not like those merc corps are going to take planets by themselves.

What bothers me is that we keep finding things out through second hand channels. I (as a beta tester) should know what is about to happen before reading it in an interview. That is how It worked with all the TT testing I did. And with HMPro (MechLab software).

News needs to drop here first, then the interviews released. So we don't get broadsided over a Holiday Weekend. I listened to the latest interview and have more questions than answers. This is where the news should ALWAYS drop first.

Everything in the interview was included in the dev blog post from before the game had an alpha state running.

They got the response they deserved for the news that broke and the tone/method in which it was given. The short and vague video interview and twitter comments don't particularly refute what a lot of people were mad about either. If they wanted a good response they wouldn't have listed price information without discussing what people were paying for. PGIs marketing acumen is pretty abysmal.

I must have read a different interview then. Never read anything in closed beta that said you are going to have to pay premium time or money to access part of community warfare.

Yes all the talk about how it will work is old news. We are talking about the bombshell of them looking at making parts of CW cost real money. If that had been apparent before closed beta, I don't think you would see that many founders.

If they don't want a negative reaction then they need to stop making decisions like the 3rd person camera, coolant flushed and CW charges.

All things explicitly stated as not going to be included in the game, all U-turns despite the communities clear feelings on the matters (dozens of locked threads...)

That video you guys are using as justification that the screamers and ragers were out of line does not refute any of their concerns.

CW sounds pretty lackluster to me and it still sounds like premium mercs are the only ones who will actually be able to campaign and play the actual community warfare part of the game, such as it is.

Mark my words, CW will be disappointing.

Feed back, asking for clarification is one thing, but what happened was nothing short of a tantrum. Some should be ashamed of their reaction. Don't demand answers about something they haven't made up their minds about, other wise they will be forced to answer something that later they have to make a 'u-turn' on.

I appreciate moderation on the forums, OP i respect your sentiment and find the knee jerk reactions silly. Flipping out over every single rumor without solid context or even firm evidence just leads to high blood pressure.

but on the other hand if you guys want to go nuts and get this sent to K-town I won't be mad.

carry on.

They shouldn't describe payment systems that they 'haven't decided on' for mechanics that they 'haven't decided on' that would be released in a time frame that they 'haven't decided on'.

I've given up on the next mech thread. After all the effort was put into re-pinning it.
