2 games instead of 4 games in 30 mins after a hard days work is still fun. Watching others play is fun. Only caring about c-bills and exp is no fun. If you want fun after a hard days work I don't see why you care if you do 2 or 4 games.

And so ignorant and non-caring c-bill **ores get penalized. Its a win-win.

I dont care about cbills or XP, I care about MY TIME. I have 70mill cbills and all my mechs mastered. I just would rather do 4 drops then spend 2 drops watchig some scrubbers doing stupid stuff. I do indeed quit because my time is precious, and I dont need the $$ or XP, I was just thinking from a newbies point of view how frustrating it could be.I "used to spectate" but watching people launch LRMS under 180 CONSTANTLY and people not targeting the mech they are shooting to see where its weak just isnt fun. Dont fool yourself into thinking this is a team game when you PUG and you feel you "owe" them to watch.

wont people just ALT-TAB out and do something that they consider more useful with their time rather than sit and watch what could be a long PUG game they have no stake in?
Personally Im not that bothered either way but I was under the impression if you died and disconnected then you still got the full rewards. What I'm not happy with is that this has never been made clear to players and not only that but that a sample taken from players both here and ingame seems to indicate nobody knows (or even believes it to be the case) - That's a bit wrong.

I'm Impressed you even get a response from people. different to my experience when I pug, no response to anything, Hence why I dont care to watch them flounder

People don't seem to believe me either as they're still DCing even after I already note in all-chat that DC zeroes the match rewards.
Now I finally understand the rage threads about people complaining this game is pay to win, that mechs are too expensive, that the grind is too long... the people complaining weren't even earning what they thought they were earning, so it's hardly surprising they'd find the rewards insufficient.

Feel free to rage about matchmaker via SUPPORT TICKET to PGI. Apart from that, Alt+Tab and play minesweeper if you can't stand watching noobs play and don't waste OUR time saying that you care when you don't. There are lots of games around, if you can't wait when other members of your team are done playing the game how THEY want it - the door is always open.

This is an AWESOME change. I was getting real tired of being on the short end of 7-on-8 or even 5 or 6-on-8 matches because some farmer would disconnect at match start. If they don't get anything for it, that's a terrific patch.

Either way, I need 13 more wins for this challenge, so xp and cbills be darned! I need to get in 52 matches before bed! (Or stop levelling my atlases. I'm an awful atlas pilot, and my jump sniping highlander has ridiculously inflated my assault Elo).
Fortunately I also have several books to read if I hang aroundafter the challenge is over.
I don't think the people who never appear on the scoreboard get anything. Those have been the reason for most of my short handed games. And from my four man queues, disconnects (legitimate) seem to be up. Every patch we lose a player to fps or connection issues. Getting used to it. :-). It really is the nature of pc gaming. Every change is nerve wracking.

(I don't always do well, but when I do, I get paid like a king.)
Now, I suppose the best thing to do is when you go into a match just spread the world or say "Check new player help and 'Change DC Crediting' thread." Get the word spread! Spread the word! Save the little new guys so that they can earn money; we always insist they need to sit and watch other skilled players to pick up tricks anyway, right?

I had a fight last night where a player on our team DCd at the start. When the fight was over there were three assault mechs left on the enemy team, and I didn't want to wait around for the enemies to lumber across the entire map to kill the one remaining mech (it was alpine and the fight finished near the enemy base). I will watch the last man go down fighting, but I don't want to watch a hopeless situation like the one above.

I get the feeling it will ~now~ be mentioned in the next patch note. Though something similar was mentioned in the past with slightly different wording that basically said it was okay to drop out of the match ~if~ we were detected as actually having fought and participated in the battle, since our mech would be locked away anyway to prevent farming with it.
But I digress, this is my Mechbay.
I don't seem to have much trouble with having a mech locked away for the duration of a match. *Scratches head.* I can't fathom why.

Going on a rampage to let everyone know asap doesn't seem appropriate to me.

Why is letting the player base know how things are 'not appropriate'?
