So I was checking different names in the search field that might be available if/when they make it possible to change your name. Of course the one name I would love to have is taken. Not only is it taken, but the person that is currently the owner of the name that I so desire, started their account in October 14, 2012 and was last active October 14, 2012...My question is, will names have an expiration date if an account remains inactive? Thanks!

I think your best bet would be to contact support.

Just because they don't use the forum, does not mean they are inactive.

It goes by the last date they logged into the forum I believe.

Usually companies don't delete unused accounts so your best bet is to think of another name.

Dunno. The only names I ever wanted, I took before a sweaty neck beard could get their Cheeto dust covered hands around them to try and tell people what to do. You can all thank me later, after I tell all the pugs what to do.

Some foo', who I pity muchly, once took "XKalibur" as his Xbox live gamertag. Said foo' promptly stopped using it (whether by his own intuition or in other circumstances is debatable ). I was in the same boat for a while. Six years, near as makes no difference. They then offered a name change service having cleaned up unused gamertags which were derelict for over five years.

In short, don't hold your breath, unless you plan on getting a Darwin award.

As to whoever took "XKalibur" in MWO. I pity you, foo'.
