Yep, so this game is officially a pay to win now I hate to see a game this good make this kind of dumb mistake. Don't they know they will make more money by not selling items that make you better in game for real money.

When I see the arty strike it is one of the dumbest thing I ever saw in a video game. Arty / Air strikes do not have their place in a MW game - only in Mechcommander type games where you are in overall command of your lance.

Having TO TARGET SINGLE MECHS then press DELETE/HOME to activate the strikes is just plain dumb - looks to me like some kid playing firecrackers.

First they nerf LRM - in its place, they put in this thinly disguised "P2W LRM".

Seriously, I envisioned artillery strikes as pulling up the command map, select a grid to strike and that's it it should affect wide area not targeting single mechs LOLZ.

Seriously...wtf man...you can spend gxp to upgrade the CBILL versions to the same power as the MC versions...sooo not P2W...

they are not pay 2 win because you can get the same effect as the MC consumables by using GXP to upgrade. Also the strikes are nothing special at all.

Funny thing, I never use any of the above, and I still win matches against those who do use these.

Therefor, not a pay to win implementation.

I have coolshot 9x9, no MC. It has uses - 1 game in 20 or so.

Artillery and Airstrikes - you'll get slightly more use out of farting in a mitten. MC or otherwise.

It's not P2W. Not even close. I don't think the Heavy Metal being released before the chassis is a good idea simply because it gives you a toy you can't get much use out of (Assault with no speed tweak = easy kill) for at least 2 weeks.

Air strike is nearly useless.
The enemy will see red smoke, so it is possible to run out of the area.
The bombs have only 10 damage per bomb and the area is "big" so it is not possible to kill one mech with one shot. One LRM 20 can do more damage ind the same time.

Yes, I used the air strike and will not use it again. I need the module slot for other things.

As everyone has pointed out, you can use GXP to upgrade the C-Bill Version of consumables. It works this way becuase the forum chewed PGI out over how consumables were going to be implemented oginally.

They started as a P2W concept and now they're a C-Bill sink. Arty/Airstike seems like a terrible C-Bill sink and Coolant is an Okay one depending on your build.

It's not P2W, but I don't like it one bit. Coolant flush is one thing, artillery and airstrikes is an entirely different kettle of fish. Haven't seen people going rampant with 'em yet, and I relly hope it stays that way.

Sorry, but if you think Air and artillery strikes are P2W, then you're a fool.

They're Pay 2 Fail.

Seriously, a machingegun or flamer is a better investment.

Coolant is also not much of a gamechanger, but the strikes are worse that useless. It's like they mailed me a kitten in a plastic bag.

They are not pay to win because.....they don't get you the win. Coolant flush may get you a kill once in a blue moon, but nothing that could not have been gotten by the OP combination of, well, "O" then "P".
