Here's the trouble: once you've filled a Raven 3L with all the MLs and SSRM2s it can carry and you put the largest engine you can in there, there's some weight left over. With that weight, you would have to be mad to use it on anything but an ECM.

While I have been noticing less ECM as well, I have a different theory: People found out they preferred particular mech configurations more than they liked the ECM equipped mechs. Or, at least, that's why I sold most of my ECM mechs.

This won't happen, you would just never see a 3L again and would only see Jenners, just like closed beta.

I think the point is using a Jenner instead of a 3L with recent game changes.

Why would you build that? The 3L is designed around ECM, BAP and NARC. if NARC was working better, and LRMs more effective, you'd see half of the SSRM effectiveness of the build go away, thus bringing the 3L down to the level its SUPPOSED to be at.

I think an easily overlooked reason that less ECM mechs are being used in games recently is the fact that there has only been, what, one ECM capable mech variant released in how long? Compare that to how many non-ECM variants? People have long since finished leveling their ECM mechs and now it's only natural that they have moved on to work on leveling the dozens of other variants out there while waiting for something more meaningful to do in the game.

Lots of heavies being fielded with the recent Mech Releases/promotions... and fewer StreakCats. Many people used ECM specifically to escape StreakSRM boating, which doesn;t happen much anymore except by ECM Mechs... but the Jager A model is bringing StreakBoating back in style.

...also, the Pilots using ECM Raven-3Ls probably buffed their Elo Rankings to a certain point...

I certainly don't over look it, my command mech is an ECM mech so that I can mask my Lances formation and movements. However matches in the past have largely been determined by which side had the most ECM/LRMs, this is no longer the case.
