Give them access to all stock variants.

Put 4 community voted trial mechs up per patch cycle.

Look. Stock variants are a joke. A freakin' joke. The difference between a properly customized build and the stock builds are as big a gap as the difference between innersphere and clan mechs in general.

It makes no sense whatsoever to stick your newest, most vulnerable players into a limited selection of the crappiest mechs around.

Have 4 good ones... then allow the rest of the stock mechs to be open to testing. None of them are what we'd consider OP - only one or two stock builds are what we'd consider viable... but at least new players would be able to get a good sense of what is available to them to play with.

All the long term value in the game is in the customization and tweaking of your own mechs; so the thought that you'd eat into your own marketshare by making stock mechs available can only arise from a mind that fundamentally misunderstands human behaviour.

Hopefully they'll run another contest and start cycling in only good mechs.

you can always stop being penny pinching tight ***** and buy some mc too you know, too either buy that special mech you love, or a hero mech, which gets a 30% boost on cbills on top of premium time giving 50% more cbills and xp.

the game isnt pay to win, but it is definitely pay to enjoy.

Either restrict the trial mechs and stock mechs to a "stock only" mode, give them all DHS (with spare tonnage to armor, CASE, and engine size), or pump out more community created trial mechs.

Hi all, I am or was one of those new comers, not just to the game but also to this genre of gameplay.
If PGI wants to maintain the interest of folks like myself they need to make it so that trial mechs are only ever matched up against other trial mechs, end of.

Putting joe blogs average on the circuit up against olympic athletes or even just generally seasoned and experienced regular runners is NOT what i would call entertaining or giving us a dogs chance in hell to learn anything about HOW to play the game.

Oh and just to mention people like LordDeathStrike are to be ignored NOT listened to, he is a self satisfied, self absorbed, narcissistic, elitist who has his head up his arse.

Look. I've just started playing myself not but a few days ago, and I find no issue with the stock mechs what so ever. Its just about being smart and sticking with your team and using the environment for adequate cover.

New-comers already get a C-Bill bonus for using the trail mechs from what I've seen and I'm already well on my way into getting my 2nd Hunchback for mastery purposes. I do get kills and I do tend to stay alive if I follow the above mentioned advice.

I'm not saying learn to play by any means. All I'm saying is play the game to where you benefit from the system in place so you can gear up to your brand new mechs.

i thin it'd be cool if they used 8 trial mechs instead of just 4

Heres the problem. I as a vet am still going to blast newbs in a trial if I choose to do that, and for some people blasting newbs is fun... I dont get it, but there it is. They need to separate the newbs until the newbs have some skill built up, but then as soon as they get out of the newb que, back it goes to people getting owned. Its not really fixable but it could be improved.
