Ah, so you want them to tell you precisely what it is NOW, rather than wait for them to release it. Well, I have bad news. Thats not gonna happen. And its not going to happen because A: if the slightest thing changed people would scream pgi lied. B: Its going to be a major announcement and they want that buzz to happen when it comes out, not two months before, so as to interest people when they can actually have it, not be told all this stuff is coming and then they wander away because it took awhile to come out. Its simply a bad move marketing wise to give you all the details now.

We had information and images of UI 2.0 months ago, with a description of what is going to be involved, why not start giving us teasers of CW and what to expect? More than just an article with credibility issues and a half dozen tweets which also, to some, has arguable credibility.

Basically it says either:
1) We still have no clue. Answer start a feedback thread you do it for EVERY other hot button topic in this game.
2) We're not going to like it. Answer: hundreds never trust PGI/IGP again.

Just looking for a bone here guys, and the article/video/tweets don't cut it with me.

If the article was misstated and correct, why doesn't PGI come out and at least say that? I don't think people are looking for spreadsheets here, just the general direction of whether and how CW is going to require ongoing financial commitment or not.

The second issue people are having is that PGI stated they would clarify soon, and now it seems that they won't. People waited as per PGI's announced intention, and now the intentions have changed. That, to many, seems like they're hiding something because they aren't doing anything to correct incorrect information.

Bryan Ekman DID JUST THAT. He literally said the information was mis stated and incorrectly interpreted.

UI 2.0 is NOTHING compared to CW marketing wise. Apples and oranges, man. No one is gonna come running to play mwo because of UI 2.0, thats just for the people already here.
The problem is not what they have released, its just that its not enough for you. I understand why you are frustrated, but its really not in their best interests to do it. And start a feedback thread on what? What they could add in CW? They did that months ago, and anything told to them now most likely couldnt be added because its so far along. You act as though it hasnt been worked on for the last six months or possibly even more.
In short, dude, youre expecting too much, and because youre expecting too much, it makes you displeased. You say you want teasers. they gave you teasers, just not images. Why? because likely the visual part isnt up to snuff yet, as the visual part is the last thing to be done, because you cant even start designing the visuals until you have worked out the coding and database issues. Just sit back, relax, and let it come in due time, man. Im fairly certain you will be pleased with the result.

You're right, I'm just FREAKING bored with the game. And I'm honestly not interested in investing any more money until I see it's going to be worth it.

It's like I've said a couple times, I WANT to throw GOBS of money at this game. Give me a reason to :). I've paid my share for the combat pillar( I have 30 bays, a few Heroes, all my mechs have MC paint jobs and cockpit items, 6 months of premium time running and still sitting on 10k MC), if they want more from me, dangle the CW carrot and I'll follow blindly.

I feel ya man, and im not really having the same issue but I can understand why you do. Do you play with friends over ts or something? I can tell you that increased my enjoyme t of the game at least tenfold. But really it boils down to repetitive drops with nothing beyond that. Drop kill die repeat. But the difference is that thats all I need out of this game, and thats just a different way of enjoying it. I think really the best thing to do might be take a break for a bit and come back in a month or so, because all cw is really gonna add is color change map and loot. And if your not in a merc corp its really only going to add the map. So coke back refreshed in a month or so and it will have 5hat luster again. I mean, even nailing a hot chick gets boring if thats all you ever do, right?

Lulz,
True, and yeah, I'm on TS every night with my house and unit.

That's another part of the problem, 75% of my unit (Redmoon Angels) is waiting on CW info to come back to the game. I've noticed my house go from dozens of full bays (OB Launch) every night to pretty shot gun on if you can get a full 8 man. 4 mans aren't a problem during peak hours, but can get spotty between patches. But on the whole, I know a lot of that has to do with what/when CW is going to be.

IMO, I think if some good, solid CW information would come out, a lot of people would come back to get their 'game face' on prior to it's launch.

Of course they would come back. and leave as soon as they realized it wasnt coming back for two to three months. Its just too far out, and this is the ebb and flow of online games. Itll jump back up when CW gets released, and then die down again only to jump back up when the Clans (No such thing as Clans, shhhh) are added. But yeah, just take a break, dont burn yourself out completely before cw comes in because what it changes isnt all that much, but psychologically will renew the game for you.

Well, given the lack of information concerning the outrage over the inital article, the subsequent twitter posts, and now the push back of the announcement of the CW plan - I can see no alternative than to stop playing this game. No MC purchases, no beta testing, nothing more until the devs can articulate the end game plan.

Sad as I had better expectations, but the past two patches and the inability of PGI to keep players informed (and no, I don't consider a twitter text informative) have destroyed my trust in PGI.

edit: silly spelling mistakes.

This is the point in these threads where they start going sour through speculation and argument, forcing us to lock the thread for violations of our Code of Conduct. You're welcome to discuss pretty much everything, including our interactions and how media is handled, but only if you're going to post in a respectful and constructive way.

Bryan knows that you want more information about Community Warfare, and he has noted that he will be revealing more information about this in the near future. Bryan's twitter feed is convenient for him to respond to people while on the go, and you can consider this information as 'official.' But again, an official post with more information on the matter will be coming. Bryan has multiple responsibilities, and I think we can appreciate that he's using an outlet that allows him to respond quickly while in an elevator or waiting for his coffee to brew.

The feature does not yet exist! There will be a Command Chair post regarding CW. We want you to be invested in this issue, and we have nothing to hide. The game is in development.

I'm glad you're all excited about CW, we are too. We just need some time to flesh out the details and write it up. Now please, we respect your opinions and feedback considerably, but please don't let this thread turn into a parallel of the other threads that became inflamed.

My intention of making this thread was not to try to start a flame war, but just to try to understand the intention of the information that was released. I think we all want to support the game and PGI, or else we would not be here and would care less about this issue or any other issue.

I understand that you need to close threads sometimes because of issues, however it feels like instead of coming out with an answer to the questions that were raised in the other main thread things were closed and locked and other information was released instead. People automatically jump to the worst conclusion if questions go unanswered and if they feel like the questions are being avoided. That is the main problem. I do not mean to criticize, just understand and get some information. I know Bryan is busy, I know everyone at PGI is busy and working hard to make the game the best it can be. I just think because of the outcry about the issues on the forums, they deserve some attention.

No tinfoil hat required:

The reason it's being pushed back is because Bryan let the monetization plans slip in there by accident as he was as he said tired and massing interviews, meaning the Polygon interview is correct and that was the intention at the time. After the backlash they're now busy as **** to retcon it and invent something less offensive so he just quickly denied the claim on Twitter despite making it himself on tape to buy them time. They have to reinvent their whole monetization scheme for CW, as with PGI monetization comes first and gameplay second, and do so without it ending up ******** again. Considering PGI's history that is no easy feat.

I don't know man, I think you kept your tinfoil hat on for that one.

As for on topic, all you can really do is wait for info. It sucks, but it's the way it is.

Yeah, it seems people think that they should dictate when info comes out, rather than let the developers do their jobs. And man, that dude might just have a tinfoil skull, I mean thats some pretty far fetched stuff hes putting out their with very little info. I see why he thinks the way he does, I just dont understand it. But hey, Im looking forwad toi news about CW and cant wait to get to play it when it gets ingame. Too bad that blatantly incorrect and possibly malicious article stirred up all these forum users who cant be bothered to listen to what is said by the devs. i mean, seriously, some people think that guy is an established publisher, but what kind of publisher refuses to release his souce material? very suspicious.

What kind of journalist listens to the whims of some random internet stalker on twitter?

A journalist reveals his source material to his audience if he has any journalistic integrity whatsoever, which said author is clearly lacking.

This argument cracks me up every time I see it.

PoD: "Roadbeer, you claim to have spend a lot in MC, let me see your Credit Card records"
Roadbeer: "Um... who the hell are you? I don't know you. Why do you need to see my Credit Card records? Why do I need to prove anything to you? It's between myself and PGI"
PoD: "ROADBEER REFUSES TO RELEASE HIS CC RECORDS, HE'S NEVER SPENT A DIME ON THE GAME AND EVERYTHING HE SAYS FROM THIS POINT TO THE END OF TIME COMPLETELY LACKS CREDIBILITY"

CC info and source material are two very different things. Thats a straw man you got there bub. Sorry. Any journalist with integrity will show his source material upon request of ANYBODY. Its the way they prove they arent lying. Just like companies are required to post fiscal disclosures to prove they arent doing anything shady. Same thing.
