Has this concept registered now?
I don't see anyone b*tching about, for example, the concept of a zero-mass element existing in Mass Effect, likely because the community understands that the material around which the entire space-travel mechanic revolves is an imaginary concept that need not apply the proper laws of conservation of mass and energy.
TL;DR: The game is future-fantasy, and breaks a ton of physics rules, let alone the ammo-in-leg issue. Hush.

I do agree with impeding movement from water and slopes - I would also agree with increasing speed past maximum if going downhill...
The 2 space rule was from later rule sources, maybe maximum tech or when they developed the tech level rules 1, 2, & 3? It was not a house rule as I recall something about it too. Perhaps a tournament set of rules?
Last bit of BT "canon rules" to consider... As mentioned water does bad things to mechs - I recall that when one had an exposed section (i.e. down to internals) if it got submerged in water it was automatically destroyed/shut down. Anytime one had damage to a section (but it still had armor) we had to roll when in water (ie - the section submerged) to see if the integrity seal was broken or not or it could be destroyed. I know this was not a standard rules level but it did exist in some form somewhere.

not only should they fall over... but... a mechs position and direction on a slope should have its corresponding impact upon a collision and or dfa between two mechs..
Iow. a 40 ton JJ mech slamming into the upper half of an atlas that is traveling upslope will almost certainly be knocked over by flying 40 ton mech coming from upslope
if we get collisions anything like what we had before, or worse yet, exactly what we had before without the weird warping issues then we know the devs really................... arent serious about this game.
It would be the equivalent of having a one dimensional drafting model for a racing game,.Pointless

For the record, I support the movement penalties for water and even a chance to fall down if moving too fast (once knockdowns are reinstated), but I suppose that second part is probably a pie in the sky.

As for the movement thing, its a massive issue. At the moment my mech feels like its floating above the terrain rather than traversing it. Even the most basic games factor in terrain. Collisions is another part. They were removed due to the odd warping, but there is no mention of their return. Again this has a massive impact on piloting lighter mechs (and ever since its removal, I find piloting light mechs boring).
At the end of the day its about immersion. I want to feel that I am piloting a huge war-robot from space and not playing COD with a nod to scaled maps and some screen shake effects. PGI you can do better, surely it isnt that hard?
And whilst your about it, let me knock over some trees and squash some cars?

Think about it, just cause they aren't stored together, doesn't mean it's impossible. May be impractical, but so are big stompy war robots, so not much of a valid argument in this game.
As for slowing in water, if you listen to NGNG podcast, you would know they are looking into this, along with slowing on hilly terrain, heck it is probably in their sandbox test environment and working through issues on the way to our beta environment.
