Just a quite note to the other players out there...

If you are going to hang out on a ridge and pop-tart with your team of "Soft Rocks" and 3Ds, if we decide to run and cap your base, don't whine. If we hang out behind a rock until you get bored, don't whine. If our ECMs just run around and pester you, don't whine.

Your tactic is just as annoying as you think ours is.

Umm, I don't get it, are you bashing people for jump-sniping? A tactic thats been around since MW first came out?

If so, then you get the award for the most pointless thread ever.

Yep so funny when you get 6 mechs sitting back poptarting, and you get 2 of your lights skirt the map and win by cap and they rage at you.

jump-sniping

I have yet to meet someone who can do this accurately with out completely minimizing there movement in flight. Making them incredibly easy targets. And even then, the hits I take are never really consistent.

So I really wouldn't use the term "sniping" when talking about them in general.

I think pop-tarting is a viable tactic, as is boating and base capping and any other tactic. Is this a case of the pot calling the kettle black or the kettle saying it's black only because the pot is?

Play. Adapt. Conquer.

As they should cause You didn't play the game the way they wanted you to. Shame on You for finding a solution that defeats their plan. :)

S!

But you denied them the fun, excitement and a chance to gloat by capping them out of the game! Shame on you for not letting them just shoot you while trying to move closer to them. Call the Whambulance, please. Didn't someone on the forums say that: Winning is all that matters.

well as long as I have been playing MW it has always been called jumpsniping. Poptarting just sounds silly. And I do it pretty well actually when I use my treb. trick is to fire at the apex of your jump.

Well spoken good sir. I think the best part is in the sig though. Teamwork is OP and needs a nerf. Absolutely! LRMs need to be rewound to before nerf, SRMs dont core in 1 shot and AC20s need 4 hits to core! Please make the weapons stronger so I dont have to be a good pilot.....ROFL. U are a gentleman and a scholar sir!

Of course, hanging back and sniping is the best way to be in a position to defend against a cap.

So the original post should really be "if you're dumb enough to snipe, poptart, or otherwise engage with the enemy, we'll just cap."

Capping is a valid tactic but... it has no special relationship to sniping.

In fact, it's complimentary. Sniping is a Great way to pin a superior force while you flank.

So... I don't get the original post. It seems to be saying "if you're potarting (subtext: which is dumb and not fun) then I am going to cap (subtext: not because I am playing to win, but because I'm annoyed and want you to suffer. Ah ha ha vengeance and misery!)."

Only issue with caps for snipers is Tourmaline, other maps are manageable for getting back in time.

People always cry about capping, it doesn't matter if matchmaker wants to stick it to your team by dropping you 6 vs 8. If they still can't learn to defend the base even with superior numbers from the start, the fail is on them. But the cries of b*tches and lame and p*ssies will rain, just bask in its' glory.

Yeah...nothing like having a bunch of mechs sniping from cover and expecting you all to charge their position like it's freaking D-day in Normandy, and then being outraged when you decide to do something other then advance slowly streight at them head-on. Sorry, but no.
