15-20% Cbill bonus is fair.
but it all comes down to MC price.
nobody will buy these mechs if all they have are XP bonuses.

Nah, itll be 5%. But cheaper than a regular mc cost of that same mech.
Champion BattleMechs
We’ve decided to add a new style of Hero BattleMech, one that represents the community – the Champion. Similar in nature to the Founder's BattleMechs, a Champion `Mech is based of an existing variant with a special permanent 5% XP boost and lower

Edit: I cant believe I agreed with Tennex and didnt burst into flames...

ah thought it meant the MC price will be lower than similar hero mechs.

As long as it's identical to the variant it replaces aside from adding the XP boost modifier, (so we're still able to customize the camo, colors, loadout, etc), it could be interesting. I suppose the goal would be to replace all of one's stock variants with the Champion equivalents. That's a genius revenue scheme. I like it.

I dont believe so, as Heros are for making money, whereas this is for helping reduce the xp grind. Honestly Im surprised anyone would want this, but hey to each their own. I burn through leveling my mechs but that may be just me. I dont need XP the way I need cbills, so I wont be purchasing, but Im glad theyre doing it for the people who want it.

why would you need another Champion mech of the same variant with the XP bonus. if you already have it, chances are you have the pilot trees filled.

I look at it like, do you want the CBill bonus of the Hero, or the XP bonus of the Champion?
I approve of this form of monetizing the game.

XP is easy to get, Cbills are always needed.

I'm sitting on 60 mil right now, with not a lot more in the game at this point that I really want to buy. But if more consumables are to come, I need more GXP to unlock. Makes sense to me.

5% extra GXP per match, even if it effects GXP... is pathetic.
Unless you can buy them for cbills as well?

I would (ideally, over time) replace every single standard variant mech I own with one that is identical other than including a significant boost to the XP it earns. It's simply better, with no downside other than having an upfront cost associated with it. Why wouldn't you want it?
Example of how I imagine it working:
You have an Atlas D-DC. That runs 4,195MC or roughly 10.5m c-bills.
You bought it for c-bills, great.
Now they're going to offer you a D-DC "Champion" model that is identical to your D-DC other than it earns an extra 5% XP over the normal version. It costs you, say, 3,500MC to purchase it, and you can only purchase it if you already own an Atlas D-DC.
The Atlas might be a poor example because it's near the upper end of the price scale, but think about a Raven or a Jenner that is identical to your favorite Raven or Jenner, but you can gain 50% better XP than it usually delivers per match. I think a lot of folks would buy it.

If the stock earn rate is 10%, and this adds 5% to that, it's an effective 50% boost to the XP earned in a given match. If that's the case, it's perfect.
If an additional 5% equates to 50% better XP earnings, it's probably worth it.

I read that as Champion mechs being cheaper than Hero mechs. It would seem odd that a Champion K2 would be cheaper to buy with MC than a vanilla K2. Who would ever buy a vanilla K2 ever again?
I thought the basic premise of a Champion mech is a it's a Hero Mech Lite. Still an MC only mech, still some rewards (although a really pointless 5% boost in XP, give us CBills!), and costs less MC than a Hero.

Just as pathetic as stockpiling CBills to make my Epeen look HUGE?
It's a value added bonus. If' it's worth it to you, buy it, if not, go with a Hero, or just grind it all out naturally. Why so resistant?

Oh. Hmm. I guess we'll have to wait to see how it plays out. There's definitely huge potential if they do something appealing with this concept. We'll see....
