What is up with the DRG-5N(C)? I noticed it in the Pilot Lad, Catagories section but not in the Mech Lab.

It is the winner of the PGI sponsored Community Heavy Mech Design Contest. So the (C) is for Custom.

Or it could be for "Champion" like in the patch notes.

Sorry, but I just came from there and I found this:

Trial BattleMechs:

Raven RVN-4X
Centurion CN9-A

Dragon DRG-5N (Community)

Awesome AWS-8Q

EDIT: I see in other places where 'champion' is listed. Whichever one it is, I still like community better. :D

I'm wondering what the heck these champions are. Like hero mechs, but instead of cbills you get XP? What's the point in that? You still have to use MC to convert it. Lame idea.

Does the 5% bonus not apply to gxp?

Either way, its a side effect of the way that mxp/gxp are earned. Way too much MXP for GXP, but doubtful that will change anytime soon.

Syllogy's Upcoming Content Tracker has a mention of a "Pilot Tree and Mech Tree overhaul" with an ETA of May/June, and the Dev's have stated that Modules will be the "end-game" on the non-CW front, so I was thinking maybe the overhaul will add some stuff that willll be consumable, but only buyable with XP or GXP? That'd give a use to all the XP locked up in Mastered 'Mechs. You can only convert so much XP to GXP before you have more than you can use at the moment.

Also, maybe you'll need Chassis XP to hit Achievements?

It stand for Community.

It's currently a trial mech.

And it's the BEST trial mech I've played yet. I've never been a big dragon fan, but if/when I end up buying one, this will be my first configuration.

It's basically the only trial mech ever where your performance is skill-limited rather than design-limited (basically, the only thing holding you back is how well you can play it).

It's not perfect, but it's far and away better than any other trial mech.
