What exactly is this?

First I thought it's a general bug, just a simple typo of the mech variant, but a friend of mine does not see this. I see it:

- ingame, when someone drops with the 5N
- in the pilot tree
- in the stats, because I onwed one but sold it

What is this "(C")? Has it something to do with the upcoming "Champion" variants?

It's the winner of the design a trial 'Mech contest from last month.

It stands for Custom I believe, so as not to confuse people when they go to buy it maybe after trying it out.

...but...why is it in my pilot tree / stats. I sold that mech long before this contest was held. And I don't think that by a coincidence I used the same build. Plus when want to re-buy that mech the game shows me the normal "5N".

It's probably the "Champion" mech, first one from the 4-2 patch notes.

You continue to earn Mech XP, GXP, and C-bills even with trials, I believe.

Mybe they plan to sell the (C) version sometime in the future as a hero mech or something since it in the Pilot Tree I pretty sure there doing something with it....

Ah, now I see it. In the pilot tree there is the 5N AND the 5N©. Obviously the game thinks I've mastered both, but I just had the 5N. And the 5N© is not yet in the list of buyable mechs it seems. Still...someone was already running it ingame, that's where I saw it first. ...am still confused lol.

Its a trial mech that won the custom mech challenge - you still get XL on trial mechs.

Th 5N ( C ) is not a whole new chassis, it is a customized 5N. So I guess they share the XP and skills, just like we used to have Founder Mechs listed seperately

Ahh, this is the missing piece. Didn't notice the trial mechs. Thanks for the information.
