I enjoy the banter and jokes.

It's the thought that counts.

How about we all just talk about the Canyon Map!

I hear JumpJets might have a good use now... discuss.

(edit - I'm not going to Lock or Move this thread just because 2 or 3 people want to have an argument.. posts will be deleted and accounts will be noted before that happens)

Those canyons don't look steep enough to keep a mech from running straight up them. Hopefully they alter the movement mechanics a smidge so that an atlas can't have half of its legs phase into a sheer cliff as it spidermans straight up it.

Ya know, sometimes I just can't tell whether or not the Tourmaline crystals can be scaled.. often they look like they can be, but I get snagged on a texture... other times I just zip right up. Same may go for these canyon walls.

I think Conquest might give the JJ Lights a good thing to do with their time ;)

I can see it now... Flying Spiders chasing Flying Spiders...

What's keeping you from running up the crystals are the collision walls that define where you can and can't go in the level. The rocky hill in forest colony is the most obvious example of how they structure what can and can't be scaled, the collision surfaces are often invisible and not connected to visible geometry. I'm pretty sure mechs can scale virtually any inclined surface. The angle that disallows it is extremely steep.

Not a fan of conquest, but im sure going to enjoy this map with highlanders, drop down ontop of a team with 3 highlanders as they are going around a pillar from atop it and destroy them from the rear as the team comes up the front to engage them head on at the same time...

I'm glad that the new maps actually have some nice, long range visibility.

I think it looks great. Hopefully it plays great too. Tourmaline is a fantastic map, so hopefully PGI's map designers are on a roll here.

Looks OK so far.

I just hope it's climate is (comparatively) temperate. Getting bored of all these maps with extreme hot or cold conditions.

If this map will be as often as Tourmaline is now, I'll be happy.

See, and here I thought MW:LL stole the "brown canyon" idea from halo. And Uncharted. And world of tanks. And starcraft. And.... You get the picture everything has a brown canyon map because it's generic.

All it needs is a few zombies and it will be perfect.
