I have no idea what you are talking about. r_DepthOfField = 0 turns it off. I played without DOF long before i used SweetFX.
PGI never said anything regarding SweetFX btw.
Lordred always runs with the depth of field user.cfg command. But in the pictures above you can clearly see Depth of Field.
All throughout this forum, numerous people have reported that the depth of field command does not work.. There's no change in whether it's on or off.

Q: May I use graphical enhancements through third-party applications, such as SweetFX or other CBar modifiers to enhance my graphical performance?
A: We do not encourage the use of these types of modifications and in particular should we detect the use of any modification that does any of the following we reserve the right to suspend/ban the account responsible.
a) Alters visibility significantly from the original product to gain unfair tactical advantages
b ) Changes game assets sounds, models, or maps, to gain tactical advantages
c) Attempts to circumvent the map selection process
d) Exploits bugs or existing game mechanics
On these shots, the depth of field command is in use. No editing done (including the contrast/brightness editing)
No fog on Frozen City night. Yet... that background is blurry? Depth of field command is not working.
There is no fog on alpine. See the blur in the distance? Wasn't there with depth of field off. Command isn't working.
There's fog here, yes, but the fog is very light at this moment. That background would be a lot sharper especially since it's 3-D and very sharp up close.
There isn't actually any fog here, but... that background is blurry. Since Anti-aliasing doesn't work, we should see all kinds of unpleasant stairs along all the edges! But there's not. Because the depth of field command has been disabled. PGI says "It creates an unfair advantage to disable it." From one of the Ask the Devs answers.
In your own pictures, you can see depth of field at work in the background.
Just because the depth of field is not dynamic, doesn't mean it is not there. That background would be much clearer. When it actually did work I've fallen through the map a few times. The background was crystal clear. I could see the entire shape of the distant planet in the background. It's quite beautiful. Here, you can barely make out the clouds.
