If you spend less than $15 a month to play MWO and have fun doing so, you're getting a pretty good deal.
Just food for thought.

2) Bryan has said this wont be subscription, it will be F2P with micro-transactions.
I've been playing subscription game for the last three years, If you want to be super competitive, you still need to pay for in game currency or have serious time to give to the game. I'm for one am looking forward to our new F2P overlords.

So you don't order pizza, go out to eat, order fast food, or see a movie more than 3 times a month? Even with minimum wage you can make $15 in two hours.
If you simply cut out ONE or TWO fast food stops, and just ate ramen noodles or something EACH month. You'd easily be able to justify $15 for a game you enjoy!

There is no "stirring" of the proverbial pot. The game is NOT "FreeToPlay", that market model is a farce & a lie. They're a company, they're here to make MONEY. Look @ WoW, I hate the game but it is considered the MOST successful MMO. Yet, they're $15 per month? Food for thought.

The gamble companies take with F2P is the same one credit card companies take with awarding points for this, that or the other. There will be a very small percentage of individuals who receive the benefits and never actually pay anything to the company. But the vast majority of people will pay the company a "fair" amount over the course of their time using the service.
I just don't want people to forget that the alternative to F2P is a subscription based model, which will cost every player $10-15 a month to play. Or they could go for a Guild Wars model where you pay $50-60 for the game then play free for life, but still have to pay $30-40 every eight to twelve months or so for an expansion...so you'd still be paying $5 or so a month to play.
But, to reiterate: I am not saying I support P2W models. I am saying, however, that everyone should ask themselves what pay model they would prefer over F2P. To me, MechWarrior is the perfect game for a F2P model.

I'd also like to point out, that the AVERAGE player in World of Tanks spends roughly $40 per month, and competitive clan members are REQUIRED to spend around $60 per month in gold consumables & ammo for Competitive Clan vs Clan matches.
I mentioned WoT due to the fact the the WoT developers were saying VERBATIM the same thing that the current MWO devs are saying against "PayToWin". However, the WoT developers gave in once they saw the monetary potential from "PayToWin". The MWO devs will be no different, because their Boss pays them, and their Boss wants MONEY for HIS Boss. The moment they see the large revenue flow from "PayToWin" route, they WILL do it. First and foremost, they ARE a company trying to make MONNEEEEY

I've never played WoT so I won't comment on that. But I will comment on P2W being a bigger profit maker. I suspect when the numbers roll in, you'll find P2W models make less money overall than F2P models. A game with a P2W model might have 10,000 active players who spend $40 a month to play, yielding $400,000 a month in profits. A F2P game might have 100,000 subscribers who dish out $5 a month on average yielding $500,000 a month in profits. P2W models might make more per active customer, but a well done (emphasis on well done) F2P model will beat them on player population alone. Of course, if the F2P game sucks or doesn't appeal to a wide array of players, that's different...and yes, if MWO winds up only having 10-20k players come January of 2013, it may very well be forced to move to a P2W model.
Just my two c-bills.

Who told you that? Do you even play WoT on the world map? I do, and the only month ive ever spend more then 8 Euro (approx 11 Dollar) was the month where i bought my Lowe tank. And i do play on world map. And if a clan demands of its players to spend 60 $ per months on a game, its a bad clan, ingame and in RL. That is, cause good clans earn gold by posessing territory on the world map. And its usually enough to cover gold ammo and consumables for clan battles. And whoever needs gold ammo and/or consumables to
Who doesnt believe me is free to check the nic Cordyceps on the eu server. Clan is InCardia
tl;dr : Dont talk about things you dont know, Grax
Back2Topic: If this game will have the same payment policy as WoT, i will be happy. WoT is absolutely not P2P or P2W, although i must admit, premium acc helps on higher tiers. That would be your average

And the best example for this is the most successful f2p MMO - League of Legends. There, only skins for your champions can be acquired by money alone - and they certainly wont help you win. Theyre not very expensive either. Less then 5 $ afaik. But the sheer amount of active LoL players does the trick.
LoL is getting an update every two weeks with a new champ and content. Thats good support.
To make things clear: im not doing commercials. I point to well-executed MMO F2P Projects and i cincerely hope, the devs will see that its clearly not P2W that brings true success and profit.
When this game will have the quality and support of WoT or (drools) LoL at release, i wont even look at them. then im all Mechwarrior

MMORPGs, however, they are not, which is what a lot of people seem to scream ****** murder about.
EDIT: Interesting. It appears the adjective form of "blood" is censored. Good to know.

That's why I have never even tried WoW (though I believe I could really enjoy the game). The amount of free time I've got is just too variable.
