I have to agree here. Hero mechs don't offer any distinct advantage, which is good since it does not promote pay to win. However, they do seem somewhat overpriced, and if anything they should come with a mechbay included to house it, and perhaps even an optional paintjob.

I know right, it's like that shady Toyota dealership who didn't build a garage on the side of my house when I bought that 4Runner, scumbag....
hmmm, have to buy more MC than you need for the Hero, like enough to buy an extra bay and a week or two of premium time or some cockpit items?
Nefarious I tell you!

I try to make sure my posts have some logic behind them. Roadbeer has seen.
But PGI doesn't do logic. Greyfyl's analysis was pretty honest.

Little of Column A, Little of Column B
I'm not anti-PGI and I'm not a White Knight. But the OP has posted this at least a dozen times since the HM was released, so now he's just troll bait and I'm stomping down the road behind him

The fact is the Beta excuse would be one thing if we received a bonus for our "work". or if prices were lower. But the prices thing just shows with a fabulous franchise like this you can gauge hard core fans for a period of time. I do not think they are working a formula for continued success or mass appeal. I think they are just trying to milk us nerds for whatever they can.
I play as many games a day as I can play before it bugs, then I switch games. Other beta games have the same rule, they just do not bug out in the same way. This is the highest price game I am playing and the worst performing.
You can play this game absolutely for free, so quit whining and don't pay if you don't want to.

It costs them nothing to give us a hero-mech-only mech bay for something they are already charging up to 30 bucks for. If someone wants to buy a Heavy Metal for near half of what a brand new AAA title costs, they should be able to buy it without being forced into spending not only more money on the mech bay but also end up with surplus MC they may have no desire for. It's predatory and the type of business model you'd expect on IOS.

How DARE they work for years to develop this product out of love for the game!
How DARE they take a huge risk by paying their employees with no guarantee of future income!
How DARE they allow an open beta for the community to participate in development!
How DARE they charge NOTHING to play a game which is worth $60 retail (not to mention $15 monthly fee)!
How DARE they constantly work on adding maps and mechs monthly at NO CHARGE!
and then, THEN...
How DARE they have the b@lls to offer you the option to buy a mech for yourself for as little as $10 or so, and then GO SO FAR as to charge you extra for your own vanity!
Same on them.

There is a significant difference between constructive criticism and incessant whining.
While there are always overreactions (on all sides of an issue) in general, constructive criticism is handled quite well by most players. If you have a gripe with the game, and there are lots of legitimate complaints, express them in a rational manner, show some foresight and willingness to engage in a reasonable discussion and you will find a lot more people willing to post about it.
Whine like a spoiled child with little or no experience in the real world and you get shown the door.
What I've seen from PGI is that a lynch mob is the only thing they respond to.
