Several Bugs - Servers Aren't Registering My Presence?

Hi,

After installing the latest patch I noticed some bugs to do with weapons and damage. I only encountered this in actual matches - everything works as it should in the testing grounds.
  • Heat vision / Night vision delays - after pressing the key to switch to HV or NV there is a very long delay (sometimes of up to a minute) before it gets activated. Same sort of delay to deactivate.
  • Weapons damage - weapon damage doesn't seem to register at all. For example, I repeatedly hit a target with large lasers (over 10 times) and I don't see any changes to it's damage display. Not only does none of the mech's weapons do any damage, I also don't get any kill assist bonuses. Only targeting assists, it seems.
  • PPC/Gauss Rifle not working properly - When firing the PPCs on a Trial Atlas or the Gauss on the trial Dragon, I see the start of the firing animation but it stops after a split second. There is no sound and the target doesn't show any effects (no explosion particles or the like). In addition, no damage (most likely ties in with the bug above), however the gauss ammo counter does decrease as expected.
  • Can't capture points - Also very annoying. No matter how long I mill around a point, it doesn't start getting captured.
Overall, it's like the servers aren't registering my mech's presence properly.

Edit: Did a bit more experimenting.
  • While enemy mechs can see me, they are unable to damage me :/
  • LRM and autocannons have the same animation/sound problem as the PPC and Gauss. Haven't tried machine guns but so far only lasers have the correct sound and animations. What's interesting is that, like with PPC/Gauss the cooling down period still works, however their ammo count doesn't go down. Also, they generate no heat.

</p>I'm seeing this exact same thing ^_^  Happened to me after the recent hotfix.  Can't play at all anymore.  Testing grounds works great for me too.  Any actual games however are like constantly playing in a CS server that is about to crash.

That has nothing to do with it. It is a network issue. Seemingly on PGI's side. There are many threads about it.

I think part of it is with the data you get from the servers.. whether it is partly corrupted or not.

On the other hand, this seems to connection/ping related, which is being exacerbated by current issues.

The best thing you could hope for is a clean uninstall+install.. and see if your ping/connection to the servers is where it is normally at.

My ping is consistently between 100-200 ms and I've seen players with a much higher ping play the game properly. I'll give the reinstall a go however I don't think it'll help much - if I've patched to the latest version, then installing the latest version should have the same problems.
