I did the noob thing and got the 4x zoom module as soon as I could. Fair punishment for not checking the forums first. Now, I've very slowly built up 30k GXP and I'm having trouble pulling the trigger on any more of the modules. Any advice/recommendations on which modules to choose would be greatly appreciated.

FWIW, I play using either a Cicada, a Jagermech or an Atlas. I suppose in my thinking that's part of my problem, 1 module that would be good for one mech, I don't see having much benefit for the others. For example, I've been looking at the cap speed boost for the Cicada but don't think it would be a good fit for the Atlas.

Thanks for any help provided.

I think Advanced Sensor Range, Target Info Gathering and Advanced Target Decay are all pretty solid.

target info gathering is rather useless unless your scouting and in communication with your team. ASR and ATD are great, especially if you use lock on weapons like lrms. My c4 uses ASR ATD and 360 Target Retention. My Raven uses ASR and used to have the TIG but swapped the TIG out for Target Decay, and has always had a capture accelerator for if a match starts going south and gotta make a quicker base cap. Really comes into it's own during conquest missions.

And wait, musta missed a thread... What is wrong with the 4x? any of my long range sniper mechs use the P-i-P to a pretty deadly degree of usefulness. It's grainy... but that seems like a balancing to me, otherwise people would be getting cockpitted from someone they never see. (Which would be fun to do, but a bit desgra IMO)

Fair point. It wasn't what I was expecting is all. I just meant that if I had checked on here first I would have learned that before rushing to spend that GXP.

Added: Forgot to thank you and Jyi for the replies, Thanks.

A fair advice - 360 degrees sensor range is always good (even if it is only 200 metres for your "back" side). Same goes for Targeting acceleration (+25% to speed of getting info). It is often important to get info ASAP - for example, if it is LRM or SRM boat standing there and should I approach it in my light mech or just stand and hit it with PPC/gauss from afar. Good luck.

Pretty much this. These can all be useful whether you're brawling, sniping, scouting or LRM boating.

4x would be better if it kept you zoomed in 3x with the PIP. It always goes back to 1x which makes it a pain to switch back and forth.
