It was running pretty good aside from the odd bug here and there a week ago. After Tuesday's patch--and the hotfix, I run into major bugs about 70% of the time. Yes, that is 7 out of 10 games.

What happened? Where'd the testers go? Is PGI just throwing stuff into production now without any care?

This patch is deplorable. The game is broken.

List of problems from this patch I have NEVER seen before:

Tripping Balls/Kaleidoscope bug
No user name bug
No targeting info / carat / box bug
Red crosshairs over my crosshairs with random text (?????????)

List of problems that have increased substantially:

Map bugs -- swirly colors and no bitmap graphic. It is just squares that are blank or like a bad rainbow trip.

And more!

The list could go on but right now I'm a little miffed.

Before we'd have random no-map bugs and occasional yellow-screen. Now it is just chaos. I never know what kind of new bug I'm going to get.

My experience is the HUD bugs and other issues became prolific around the time of the Jagermech and Tourmaline patches. That's when it really started picking up for me. Since then the HUD bugs in particular have only gotten worse.

I havent had any of these.

Oh, my map didnt show up once and I played it off as fighting in an emp. Kinda made it epic.

Not everyone is experiencing the problems you are. There have been times when the game was running fine for you, but unplayable to another. Personally I had a whole month where I CTD every single match. Do what I did. File tickets to Support. Give them the dxdiag files they request, and wait for the problem to be resolved.

Did you upgrade your graphics drivers? I haven't heard of people having the kaleidoscope problem since the hotfixes.

The patch was hilariously ill-conceived and poorly tested, but I find that post hotfix I'm running ok.

Just pretend that it is a Mech Sim game and you are dealing with the problems that come with using a 100 year old war machine that people can't reliably fix. ;)

i don't get them too ofte. but at least 1 person in a match has a bug evvery other game.

It's a bad patch (It's a good patch but had some bugs introduced), get over it. Welcome to the world of software development. Devs are doing good. If you want to hear something other than "mindless defense of the devs" refer to http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/110251-technical-issues-update/ where they said they have just improved their testing methodology and tools internally. I come from a software testing background, and this is one of the better project's I've been involved in. Those tools they are deploying will make a huge difference for them. Cut these guys some slack.

The only bugs I've so far experienced:
Rainbow Minimap (twice, one last month)
CTD (twice, after the April 2nd patch, before the hotfixes)

Haven't seen anything else yet...
So maybe Q&A is not using crappy computers like everyone else...

Pretty much the same, don't overly like posting in these thread as it will only lead to "BS" flame posts but i've seen maybe 6 bugs in the last 100 drops, all minimap/throttle line bugs with the 1 exception of a CTD when i got hit with lrms.

But hey, at least I can buy a pink mech with loudspeakers!

i got a lot of minimap bugs tonight: the rainbowbright minimap bug, the 'you are not really pointing the way the map says you are minimap bug' the 'your teammates aren't really there minimap bug and the 'you don't get a minimap this round just a black square' bug.

i don't bother reporting them cuz i know that they know that they know that i know that they know this bug is there.

Well, you heard wrong. The hotfix did nothing. The seizure inducing techno disco flashing polygons bug is still not fixed. Apparently according to a moderator, they do know of it although it is not an acknowledged bug in the command chair post.

I can bear with all the other bugs ie: glitched minimap, no IFF, targetting bug, etc., etc. but for me and all the other Nvidia GPU notebook toting players the "kaleidoscopic" bug has pretty much made MWO...

... UNPLAYABLE!

Agreed. I have MWO running on 3 separate late-generation PCs, 2 with Nvidia cards and one with ATI.

All have the latest drivers.

All exhibit HUD bugs from time to time.

Agreed, been playing yesterday and today only to find myself increasingly frustrated with all sorts of bugs - no hud, no map, freezes, CTDs, lag...

Yes, I'm running the latest drivers and yes I have cleared the shader cache but it isn't our systems - it's the last patch which broke the game.

I get a random HUD-Bug every 2nd game. Most annoying: No IFF (every 3rd game) so I don't know who's on my team and who's not. Have to wait till someone shots at me to know who I can attack. Bonus annoyance: guided weapons are useless because you have to guess where the enemy is to get a lock. Had a bug yesterday where the paperdoll of my own mech was missing. I had no idea which part of my mech was damaged and how critical it was. Or how about no Map. I have no idea where I'm going or where my team is (on bigger maps) and I can't communicate the position of the targets.

At the moment the game is nearly unplayable for me :D

P.S. clearing the shader chache made it worse for me

HUD bug frequency is up 10 fold. A few other odd bugs in there as well.

Map is out one out of three games...hud bugs every so often but really managable for a beta..not for release...

My big pet peave is the radar/sensor display....it simply does not work at any kind of level that has any reliability whatsoever...

I play a missile game....and that required radar to work right...radar in this game is totally random...and cannot be depended upon at all. You have no ability to run through your own teammates position on the radar...key for commander and team strategy when you get to faction vs faction team play....

In addition...the location of enemy players is totally completely random...I have enemy players with non ecm equipped medium, heavies, and assaults pop up on my 6 unannounced virtually every game....There is no ecm mech there...just a radar that is so flawed that it cannot even pick up a slow assault coming around to my location. My first notice is it blowing my back off.

That is a serious flaw...I assume that the dev team will make this a priority...because without decent radar...you are reduced to playing a total line of sight game....which is what is occurring out there anyway...a los sniping and dance of death game...

This btw is NOT battletech which reflects a combined unit arms concept that is very balanced. Each type of mech loadout is balanced by a counter mech that can effectively hit that mech hard.

Right now...this game has nice graphics...but the mechanics are just not battletech...you have only a los missile game that is nerfed to pieces...and the worthless sensor suite gives every other type of mech a decisive advantage...because there is no reliable warning for a "sneak" attack..

Just hope the dev team can get the balance working here...cause this game deserves it.
