instead of having the value shown in the targetting data, how about just altering the color of the red arrows over enemy mechs based on the value relative to your own (Similar to the colored CON names in most MMOs:

Grey: Very weak relative to you. Very low rewards.
Green: significantly weaker than you, Low rewards.
Yellow: About your strength, Normal rewards.
Orange: A bit stronger than you, improved rewards.
Red: Very strong relative to you, excellent rewards.
Purple: Why are you even fighting this guy? He's gonna ROFLSTOMP you like a beer can. Highest rewards.

or we could include both. i like this idea and i am going to quote it in the OP.

I like the idea.

Could we do the same thing with Mech damaging heavier mechs?

Light mech damaging heavier mech= Higher pay
Heavier mech damaging lighter mech = less pay

Not by much - just so that there is an incenive to run the light gauntlet.

light mechs are generally cheaper than heavier mechs so i think having the mech value component i listed in the OP would already cover that.

agreed, but there are plenty that hate the idea outright. this is something that is more acceptable in general and will mostly get the job done. although i don't see any reason why this would conflict with any version of repair and rearm. i think this could work well along side RR too.

if this were worked in and RR were brought back this might turn into my favorite game.

I thought this thread was about blinkin wanting to wear bounty paper towels on his head. I am so disappointed. :(

Blinkin, pair this with Roland's Market based Battle Value system and think you have a total winner!

get rid of the max battle value and i think it would work well. i will give this a mention in the OP.

I only read the TLDR version of the OP, but I've thought many times that a bounty bonus system should be in place. I only assumed it wasn't because bounties aren't really a Mechwarrior universe thing. (Maybe they are and I just don't know it.)

they did have bidding for battles which is probably closer to what i am describing but this thread has been around too long and i don't want to change the name and confuse people.

bump.

Very good idea.

I like this :)

New players will be more rewarded for kills/assists, and will not be likely been focused first (high threat has to be dealt first)
