this is assinine.

Any reset that included MC resets would lose PGI money.... the people who are out there actually buying the stuff would suddenly have a huge stockpile of it to spend and very little reason to actually buy more in the following months.

Cbills and exp would be a rediculous headache for PGI and serves no purpose other than to "put everyone at the same point" again except that there would be a large number of people who wouldnt keep playing... many of us have dealt with the ****** patches, nerfs and bugs, simply because we already have something invested in the game (namely the time required to get all that exp and cbills) and wouldnt be willing ot do it again.

Reset stats and you lose ELO. And even though ELO is trash, PGI likes it and wouldn't be willing to shoot themselves in the foot by having to restart the damn process.

The only reset that does make sense is a refund, and we all know that isnt going to happen.

Psssst.. come over here a second. Let me tell you the dirty truth: We're in active development, not beta, no matter what the title says. So no!

I'd be cool with an ELO Wipe. Losing all my mechs would frustrate me.

You can delete your vote and vote again.

Personally if they reset all the cb and xp stuff I would quit the game. Too much work to do it all again.

you can reset stats without losing elo. because you wouldn't be really resetting all your win/loss data, just resetting the stats that people see

I knew there were a lot of dense people on this forum, but how could anybody possibly vote 'yes' to this?

Yes, but ONLY FOR MC, as I wasted it too early before the ideas of hero 'mechs even existed. Back then it seemed like the only function for MC was premium time and buying 'mechs quicker (I've been playing since August): I regret my founder MC purchases so much.

Started playing recently, thinks a reset would make them "catch up"?

Here's a little life lesson for you:

Don't be impulsive with your expenditures and maybe, just maybe, you won't have cause for regret.

Anyone who thinks they deserve a refund 5+ months after the game went live is either a child or
an id-iot, or possibly an id-iot child...

Regretting MC purchases before heroes were even released, where the world of MC was only premium time and buying 'mechs early: when I joined, the website said beta, so I wasn't expected anything snazzy and new, but they seem to have reinvented the definition of a beta.

Yes I'd hate to lose all my grind of 'mechs, mastering, and cbills, but to get that back, all I'd need to do is play a game I enjoy playing. Furthermore, it's just a game.

If they do that I would instantly demand a refund as I'm not grinding again and I was told that closed beta was final wipe. I can't imagine I'm alone in feeling this way.

Turning back I'd only scrap the Ilya to get the Pinklander (that I've chosen not to take), but besides this, no way I want a reset, unless they reset everything and award me what I've farmed so far, but they'll never do either of two.

No way I'm farming more than 600mln cbills again, MADNESS :P

Could you please quote from where you generated the assumption that I feel I 'deserve a refund'?

I'm not demanding a refund? The post is saying, would I like my MC back, so I'm saying, "Yes, it would be nice to receive my MC back again, because I prefer the Heavy Metal over the Flame, because I like it more." It's quite obvious there would be a lot of anger created from wiping everything (an example of such anger being your contentious reply to my quote), and so I believe only information will be wiped if anything.

You seem to be looking for trouble.

They will not be resetting everything. People are paying real money to unlock content. The most that will reset will be stats and such.

I'd be fine with a stats reset (stats, not XP/cash/mechs/etc). I've invested a few hundred dollars in this game buying mechs, camo, colours, bays, xp conversions, etc. If they wiped that, I'd freak right the f**k out.

Fortunately, there's no reason for them to do that.

They DID, however, say there would be a stats (again, this is just what you see when you click Profile>Stats) wipe when they put Achievements in. Personally, I'd be all for that, then my terrible Learning To Play stats from back in November/December would be gone, and I'd have a killer KD ratio instead of the sorry-assed 1.5:1 I've got now.

If there is a reset I would uninstall the game and never play it again.

To serve what purpose? The whole point of announcing that the start of open beta would be the last full data wipe was so that people could feel comfortable spending time & money knowing they would be building up assets. It's the lure which is 100% necessary to keep an open beta which lasts as long as this populated. If there was even a hint of another wipe, this place would turn into a ghost town (for real, not the idle "I'm quitting if I don't get my way" threats we often see).
