What is the worst weapon system currently in the game and state why.

I'm voting LRM's at the moment. The damage is so pointless on LRM's whenever I see someone boating them on my team, I cringe because we are one mech down.

ever since the nerf... id say missile weapons. i used to be a dedicated cat pilot and now i dont even use my catapult anymore.

But seriously, none of those you listed are "worst" some of the sub-types are pretty bad currently, like pulse lasers are often not worth taking over normal ones, AC5s are often not the best use of a ballistics hardpoint, ect.

All those listed have their place and can be bad on the wrong configuration but none are a worse use of hard points and tonnage than the others.

Seriously, the machine gun is infinitely worse than anything on that list.

ZZtophat let me give you an example of how bad LRM's now:

Me, 4 PPC Stalker vs a DC AC/20 SRM6 Atlas. I had a LRM60 w/ Tag at 450M out supporting me from the rear of the Atlas. The LRM Stalker got 4 LRM 60 blasts at optimal range w/ TAG (I saw the TAG on the Atlas target) at the Atlas back side, he did not kill it. Meanwhile, I managed to take off the Atlas's LT and remove his SRM6's and died. As soon at the Atlas turned around, the LRM 60 boat could kill him due to the amount of armor I stripped from the Atlases front.

Just saying, I've never seen LRM's implemented so weak in any of the Battletech series.

Machine gun, AC2, Flamer, LRMs, all pulse lasers, and now SRMs kinda suck.

write in Vote for NARC. Weapon system 3 tons, +1ton of ammo. 6 shoot to mark a target for a total of 35 damage before it fails.

Horrible poll options, vague. Thought weapon 'classes' were split between energy, ballistic, and missile. No one of the options is worse than the other; all depends on several variables as to what class is the best choice.

In any case, worst weapon? LB 10-X AC. Everything is an upgrade over this; at least the machine gun doesn't eat 11 tons. LRMs may spread their damage, but they can still hit something with good accuracy.

Horrible Poll. LRM's are at about where they should be, IMO. Needs Machine Guns/Flamers/SMPL/NARC

The poll is poorly thought out. Generally speaking, there isn't a single weapon group that is bad, it's individual weapons that are bad. The Large Laser and Medium Laser are both pretty darn good, but the Small Pulse Laser is pretty bad, for example.

Then please put out a poll split amongst 26 weapon systems and then get meaningful results. The poll is based on the class and how they fire. A LRM has a different firing mechanism than a SRM. Lasers fire differently than PPC's. Gauss and Autocannons are fairly close in firing mechanism but differ in ammo explosions.

Based on the system itself I would have to say streaks. The way they work currently looks weird and doesn't lead to interesting gameplay.
