3xUAC works a lot better than 4.
  • More room for engine/ammo.
  • Backup MLA
  • Chain firing 3 will guarantee your guns won't jam.
  • Firing 3 at once hits as hard as a gauss and if you're lucky, fires 5 times faster.

None, as yet. I have tried to shove them in to a jager but it resulted in so little survivability...

Dual seems to be the current ideal, at least until a good ballistics assault boat comes along...

I've got them in my Yager also. The pragmatist in me partially agrees with you, as I ran 3 UAC5 for a while, but the destroyist in me is too addicted to the EXTREME DAKKA that 4 bring to the table. I once cored an atlas in about 4 seconds with it, leaving me around a third of my ammo remaining.

I ran it for a laugh initially (if you can call 40 matches initially) but was boggled when I found my average damage was in the mid-400s.

Ive since concocted a few compromises; 2 uac5 and 2 ac5, which leaves you some dakka for those occasions when Ranblor (the deity of random numbers) smites you and jams your guns.

2 uac5 and one ac5 also works, freeing up space for some medium lasers, or more ammo.

And this is why the Ilya is actually such a lovely piece of technology.

Gotta say, too, I love how little ammo some people's builds advocated in previous posts. I can spin 250 rounds out of 3 uACs pretty easily in a match with an Ilya if I'm chomping away from long range and actually pacing shots for maximum DPS instead of jamming the guns on every target.
