Replace good with small; you're always trying to make a good product. You can make it fast and cheep but it'll be bloated as everything has it's own lookup file. You can make it cheep and small but everything's going to crowd the cpu and it's going to be slow. You can make it small and fast but that takes a lot more development and optimization time which doesn't come cheep. If you try to make it fast, small and cheep it's not going to be good.

Nice to see a fellow "Beta Tester" providing their share of input to "Beta Testing" (eg: testing bugs).

If only everyone currently "Beta Testing" the game was more like Mavqie, nothing "broken" would ever get reported. Oh wait, thats what happening now.

So, did you report it? Or just think that posting a pic in a QQ thread would do the trick?

The HUD bugs are only mildly annoying, but rare. Maybe its because I'm AMD/ATI top to bottom, but I just don't get as many problems as I hear about on my unit's coms or on these forums. The only time I quit playing was this past weekend. On Saturday night there was some wacky lag issues going on and I was rubber banding all over the place even though I had pings under 38, usually among the lowest in any game I played. So I don't know what was going on. So I quit playing for the night and read a book. Sunday night, everything was hunky-dory.

I'm aware that bugs happen, but I don't let them bother me. So what if I see a few blue boxes on the hillside one game in twenty? I know then that when the match is over I the next one probably won't have that issu and if it does I restart the client. Big deal. People make it sound like the sky is falling if the mini map is messed up.

Actually, that doesn't happen.

I appreciate you're angry, but understand that, 'I'm having HUD problems' isn't a light-switch fix. There's no magical button, or line of code, that will 'fix' it. If we could fix it quickly, why wouldn't we? What possible scenario would have us cackling in glee as our game had an error?

As soon as we can, we will hotfix or patch the issue out.

I hope this includes the kaleidoscopic graphik bug.I have it now every match.I updated the drivers and send you the omicron logs. All i wanted is that we get some official comment on this issue after the hotfix didnt work.Thx Garth

I can live with the bugs in the gameplay for the moment. However I really want to ask for a better way to install the game itself. Give us an installer, give us md5 checksums to verify the file has been downloaded correctly. Every 4- 6 games I get the FRead error, I worked through all the support email and threads and I still get this error. My PC works great, drivers are fine, I can play other (way more demanding) games, still this bug is really persistent. Only reinstalling helps. Downloading 2GB and waiting 30 minutes to finish (cause your download servers are so slow) and basically staying away from the PC (since installing would definately fail and I get FRead error on the first startup) EVERY DAY drives me nuts.

Bryan Ekman@ twitter: "I love the forums, they don't stress me out, most of the time. I even love the misguided fans delicious tears and rage posts, so passionately telling us how they really feel.."

Mr Ekman, if I suckered up so many fans of a franchise in paying up dosh for a "promised" product, I'd be laughing all the way to the bank too :D

It does look kinda bad though when in the scale of a year your company rolls out MC only additions 10x quicker than content or bug fixes, then complain about not having the right staff to fix it, or slow speed..
But who cares as long as suckers keep paying right? lol

Is that an actual quote? or did u make that up. Lets see a link

You played a different CB than I did. We went through a lot of unbalanced in the months of CB I participated in..

I wasnt there in the in the beginning. Im mainly talking about how the game was a couple months before the open beta, and while we still had knockdowns.

Did you not know what a beta was when you activated your premium time? Sounds like you took a risk and don't like the result. Tsk Tsk.

Please show me the actual factual data backup up your assumption. Because all you've got right now is an assumption - that somehow they couldn't just re-patch all the data but the new mech if it was that easy. That's the most common hotfix I tend to see when I'm helping with UAT in the business software that I work with. Something creates an issue in an update and that particular change is essentially 'patched out', leaving the rest of the content in place.

The presence or absence of the hero mech in the patch is irrelevant to the technical issues themselves and unless you've actually got something to imply otherwise what you're doing is stating, from a position of ignorance (which we're all in) that somehow the release of the hero mech has anything at all to do with their willingness to actually roll a patch out - instead of the fact that the patch adjusted shaders, maps, splash damage on missiles, consumables and a crap ton of other things that to 'roll it back' isn't like dusting crops back home.

I get that you're frustrated and it can be very easy to just assume that because someone doesn't do what you think they ought to do it's because of money, or they just don't like you or don't care or whatever. Right now though what you're saying doesn't have any basis in any facts available to us, unless I'm missing something. If there's a quote from PGI saying 'the problem with rolling it back is the hero mech or we'd just have done it' then link it up.

Otherwise though all you're doing is making a baseless assumption and representing it as fact. That's what I'm challenging.

Not saying that the mech is the reason that they are not rolling out a patch to fix their horrible patch. I am saying that the hero mech is the reason they can not just quickly roll back the patch that they made.
Fixing takes more time and effort than rolling back the patch.
I know you think that rolling back a patch is difficult. It is not.
It should be used when a patch breaks the game for many.

So. In the future PGI should keep patches that make them money separate from those that change the actual game.

If you do not agree with this, there is nothing that anyone can do to help you understand.

you guys need to come on here and tell these idiots to **** more often, i'm getting cramps in my fingers from doing it so often....if you alienate the 10 players who constantly moan so what, i have more players incomming once the game is fully released

Summary: One team works on bug fixes. Another team works on MC Sales. MC Sales come out more frequently than bug fixes.

Solution: Make all bug fixes MC only to get them out faster.

Conclusion: Forum members are horrible game developers and business people.

So you are stating that spending money on this game is a risk and should not be done?
You do not like this game much do you?
You want to see it die?

I spend money because I want this game to be good.
PGI should give a ****.
That is all.

As a user who plays purely on an alienware laptop, this game has been unplayable for a week, today. (the kaleidoscope bug 100% of the games i play)
i understand coding and fixing bugs is not the easiest job in the world, and i hold no grudge or resentment for a bit of a delay.

a question that would be great if you could answer, however, is: Can you give an estimation on completion time before there will be a hotfix/patch that will *probably* fix this for us laptop users?

mwo is currently my favorite game, and i'd really like to play it again XD
