It's a shame PGI keeps pushing things back like the Clan release date. Bryan Ekman in a interview at GDC stated that clans will come with launch, which is September 21(date there "hoping" for) and now it does indeed seem that Clan will not come out with launch at all and come out in October. This is depressing to say the least and I am losing faith in PGI to deliver on their content, In saying that I still have a little hope left that PGI will atleast give us the community some actual solid information on some Clan details and maybe some concept art with it. If I dont see any concept art soon I will be a very sad kangaroo as dubbed by my clan mates.. :(

I want Clans to be ready for the Battle of Tukkayid, which IIRC is in 3052 (2015). I have high hopes that PGI will be able to do that...
I do not want Clans to be implemented half completed, or half assed. I rather wait.

Look at it like this... it's been open for ages. MWO cannot POSSIBLY make it worse, just put it on a screen. Have some faith!

You know, it's not the lack of content that really bothers me. I want them to take their time and get things implemented correctly. However, it's the lack of information that bothers me. I wasn't really expecting any Clan content in March but I was expecting information concerning how the clans will be handled and which Clan mechs we can expect.

I never can seem to let the dust settle on my Fire Moth, what with it being on fire and all.

I doubt that the hard-core clan-centric player who has been a devotee of the game for a long time (since at least MW2) are the ones who are being impatient. Most of us are at least twice as old as the new players to the franchise - those are the ones chomping at the bit. Most of us are also confident that PGI will not get it right. If they had stuck to 3025 for the initial phase of the game, there would be much less expectation and turmoil.

I'm a Cauldron Born fan, anyway. That mech will be seen no time soon.

There are no Clans.
The Clans do not exist.
They are a myth.
You have been warned.

I am a Big Fan of Clans and Clan tech. I been playing as a Clanner in Clan Mechs back in the old P&P&D Battletech Days. When MWII hit the PC's i was blown away at the opportunity to play as CW or CJF during the Refusal War. I also Lead Clan Steel Viper for MW3 & 4 for over 5 years as its Khan.

PGI has a lot of opportunity to make this game the Best damn game within the Battletech Universe. But at the moment i have not been overly impresed with the current style of gameplay, as it is there is no storyline no backdrop to the battles, its just drop and go.. Soooo boring. So much of the universe is missing. So much of Cannon and Lore. The ability to form Lances under a house or when the Clans arrive, Stars. Or to run as a Merc Unit hiring your team out to the highest bidder for battles. Pirates operating in the Periphery Worlds, And of course Solaris. This game Needs Solaris.

The Major Battles like Tukkayid etc should not be Playable, Cannon battles should remain Cannon. but Boarder Skirmishes, the abbility to Capture Worlds in the Name of your Clan/House. More RPG elements needs to be incorporated. Battletech was also a RPG as well as a Battle Simulation. Another Successfull RPG game comes to mind that of Dungeons and Dragons Online. MWO should follow a similar approach and it will draw in a lot of people especially the old BT Die hards such as myself.. Without the RPG element the game will quickly become Boring and monotonous..

Its canon, not cannon. One is a term originating with standard and convention in scripture or literature, the other shoots large stone or steel balls.

TBH I never expected us to be able to pilot Clan Mechs before wave 5, simply becasue i would be of no real benefit for anyone. With the exception of Wolcott and a few other "blunders", wave 1-4 were the kid of stomp that makes a premade 8 man vs 8 trial PUS look damn fair. Would serve no purpose but to demoralize IS pilots.

But in Wave 5, where the IS knew what they were up against, that`s where things started to get interesting... :(

AND this also gives them significant time to get the Clans just perfect. And I honestly think that that is, after hardening and gearing up for launch /CW, the most important thing for them to be doing. Not just for MWO, but for their own futures.

Remember, we are "reviving" an IP that was considered "dead" for videogame purposes. By a company who`s reputation isn`t necessarily bad, but ID Software they are not.

If they get MWO running perfectly w/ IS 3050, great. Most of the community will still say "So what?". But when the implemwent the Clans, it will be either:

A. Near perfect balance, which would make it a huge accomplishment (taking what was already massively imbalanced and balancing it properly)

or

B. The Final Death of MWO, the BT IP for videogames as a whole, and PGI`S reputation if not the company itself.

Honestly this is B.S. !!!!!
Honestly we've given PGI enough ******** money..

I'm sick of the delays.
If they were not confident getting it at out in a timely manner.

Why the hell did they start in 3049!!!

Do not just start a game on a certain date in game. Give people a crapload of hopes.
And then turn around and crap on them.

PTI even said we got a lot more money than we ever thought we would

All the Devs have to do is rollback the games calender so they have plenty of time to introduce the clans. A lot of players want a clan invasion and the I.S. players will enjoy more time to prepare for the clans. Also, use a mech combat value and use a total team value to determine mach ups between clan and I.S. mechs. Clantech should be expensive so many players won't have it early on so that helps balance off the start. Have 2nd line clan mechs available as soon as the clans invade, so players without a lot of MC's can play something. That's my 2 C-Bills anyway.

(Tukkayid noobs)

Pfft, Kodiak clearly kept ammo in torso - noob.

Mad Dog didn't even try to torso twist - noob.

Timber Wolf actually stopped so that he could get headshotted - side of extra nub sauce.

Who let the Sibkin assault Tukkayid?

Has anyone considered, perhaps, the unnamed assault mech due in July could be a Dire Wolf or Kodiak? Just thinking out loud...

No, they haven't, because the devs have clearly stated clans are:

Coming after Community Warfare

Correct me if I'm wrong - coming within 6 months after release (September).
