My skill tree shows both the 5N and the 5N-C. They both get xp added to them simultaneously. One match for 450xp in the trial 5N-C gave me 450xp to both mechs. Weird, eh? It makes it seem like double xp, so it is kind of confusing.

I think this is a case of "didn't think this would ever happen when we wrote the code for mech XP allocation"
i.e. it is a fudge until they get some time to sort it properly. Low priority so fair digs for them not bothring about it.
