You have your gamma near max, right? I recently did it and now my game is looking like yours.
Also a negitive. My gamma and brightness are both still a flat 0.5 (middle). I do have Gamma Correction and Ambient Occlusion enabled on a driver level.

Mechs performing alpha strikes?
Done that. 6 ER PPC Stalker can still do it. Not the most impressive thing to watch (after it happens). Took about 30 seconds to boot up again.
On a positive note, Lordred one-shot the guy he did it to.
But we'll make sure it's on the list.

Rofl, you're telling me Lordred lived? sheesh, i've never had such overheating luck with that many ERs. Always blow up instantly because my head component decides today is its big day.
Personally I've always been a fan of the "Alpha all you've got in the face of defeat." Similar to this moment: http://img38.imagesh...52312115589.jpg
But back when the Mad Cat was firing lasers and all four super powerful machine guns at the atlas.
Catch my drift? Any mech that looks valiant against a horrifyingly powerful mech is the right idea. So long as it's not a light versus an Atlas or something, or at least be legged versing something like a Centurion.

You can't detonate instantly anymore. You lose 95% of your CT health. So you can do it back to back... but it takes over 30 seconds to recover from 6 ER PPCs. If you force start up you die.

This was removed.
The old heat system you had a chance of shutting down at 95% heat which you could press override to power up in spite of that. At 101% heat you died instantly. No matter what.
Originally Heat Containment only raised your chance of shutting down to only occur at 98% and higher, but usually by then you had already hit 101% and died. So they changed it to raise your overall thermal limit so that 100% is 10 to 20% higher heat-point-wise. (...that was freaking stupid). Around the same time they changed it so that you had to have 200% threshold in order to self-destruct and threw in the new override system.
I don't mind the new override system (the one we've lived with for so damn long), but some of those things were really dumb.
Currently: 100% sustained deals some CT damage (1 to 2 per second for 3 seconds then it changes to damage to other places). 150% does nasty CT damage (like 8 to 12 damage per second). 175% threshold and up causes a locked shutdown even while overrided and automatically removes 95% of your CT health. If you boot up at any time before cooling off you die. But this also means even with nasty CT health, you can still fire 6 or even 7 ER PPCs at once due to the instant shutdown and hitting 175% instantly stops all the effects of everything below it. ...At the same time the old overheat until you explode trick to rob the enemy of their kill is harder to do and takes more time (emergency shutdown, then power back up to accomplish it rather than fire and go boom).
It's six of one, half a dozen of the other.
