@massom grim personaly u forgot about one group of people in ur post on page number 2. U forgot about group of people which say ok am gonna spend 30 on this and they spend it. They dont look how much each **** costs becouse they are not buying exact thingies but they just spend cash on it becouse they wanna support creators and game couse they have fun. For this it wouldnt really matter if hero would be 15-30 they would just buy some other stuff to that 30 price tag like camos, colors, cockpit items. Personaly i am like this if i wanna invest into something i just money into it how much i can afford.

Hello Juice. Thanks for the feedback. I actually thought of this group because several people I know around the MWO Community are exactly like this. The reason it wasn't added in to the equation is because it's an unquantifiable variable and not directly related to Hero Mech, the transaction system or the pricing model. This group of individuals will spend money on whatever up to their price point because they enjoy the game and want to support its continued development; this isn't dependent upon anything other than their enjoyment.

But i am not gonna buy one item for 30 at this point i just better to add 10 more and i got whole new game for at least month of gameplay(you have to take into account also not all mechs u might buy u will use for upcoming years). But if mechs would cost 10-15 i wouldnt mind to put 30 into game get both of them or just get one and buy some camos and colors. Becouse i know i cant spend daily or monthly 10 on game thats why i never played any subscription game and i just like one time payments which gives me enough content.

Essentially you, despite your willigness to support the development of the game, fall in to the category of "It's too expensive. If it was half what it currently is then I would spend more money on this game" but that isn't something that can be projected by those that analyze the MWO revenue stream; for all they know your words are just that, words.

When Champion mechs come out I would guess that someone will be sitting down with a balance sheet on Hero Mechs versus Champion Mechs and analyze the data in an attempt to balance the pricing model so that it appeals to a wider demographic.

Or...

I could totally be wrong and they will keep hero mechs at the price they are so that not everyone is running around in a Hello Kitty special which would make them a bit more rare as the player base continues to grow. (shrugs) I have no figures to support any of my data nor any crystal ball to see what they will do.

It especially doesn't help when most people here are hypocrites and tend to buy said hero mech anyway.

...Guilty... ;)

To be fair though only because I had Founder's MC left and really liked the hardpoints/color/speakers

One thing you have to realize also, if hero mechs were only $5-10, EVERYBODY would buy them, and hardly anyone would play a "regular" mech, except to grind their hero "keeper" mech. The way it is now, you have to WANT the mech AND be willing to pay the price for it. It keeps hero mechs in check, making them rarer on the battlefield, because while most of them aren't any better than their standard counterparts, they have unique weapons layouts, and an income boost. Could you imagine how many Highlanders you would see in game if they went for only $10 a piece?!?

First of all I did not delete your post. Believe it or not, there is more than just one moderator. The really scary guys like to live in the shadows so that you never see them coming; like ninja!

Second, scanning back I see your post and it contains MLP content which, as per the rules, is allowed only within its own MLP Thread; the deletion was justified. Had I seen it, and been on anything other than my phone, I would have deleted it as well.

Next I'm not quite sure the purpose of your response and I am guessing this is due to a language barrier which tends to happen from time to time. Sorry.

In the future, please stick with the topic discussed in the OP

Sounds like a lot cash for PGI, you find that to be a problem?

I don't complain about prices, I just buy it and let others complain about it.

Just don't buy the thing. Hint: Hero mechs suck compared to the other variants anyway.

the people that pay for it all say its ok and they justify by saying its the only way pgi can make money blah blah blah (i know some of these people) i totally disagree with them.

first thing is your right for $30 i can buy a whole game out of beta maybe even two or thee games. the prices are not very competitive but thats fine as long as the founders always cash in. fans will pay dumb sums (not dim sums) and always justify it in their own mind. i personally think pgi could make more money by lowering the prices and try capturing more of the market. there is all this talk about bringing in and retaining new players (cough cough 3rd person) but what good is that if only a small portion are willing to pay dim sums? what incentive is there for players to pay and stay if they dont pay?

if the prices were lower on many things i would spend more money because i would think less of each transaction. frequency of transaction is key to f2p. isnt this f2p 101?

funny thing about fans is, if you lower the prices it will only give them spare change to spend = they spend it anyway and some. (i think) if you lower the prices, fans will still spend their monthly allowance and some + you capture more of the market to spend! win win easy as dim sums.

I take great joy in blowing up these expensive pieces of junk.

I take great sadness since I thought the highlander was going to be great to pilot.

I bought a Highlander with some of my Founders MC. Doubtful I would have shelled out ~$30 for it, but I've got sunk costs and like the heavier mechs.

If you're gonna charge that much, then IMO it should come with 30 days of premium time and a free mech bay, at least...

I bought one....but only because the obscene amounts of MC I got with the Founders pack I bought. If I look at my actual cost, it was only about $10-$15 dollars worth of my based on my Founders purchase.

However, I have to be honest here. If I was a new player without having a Founders pack, there is no way in hell I would spend $30+ on a hero mech in this game. I mean there is absolutely no need for them unlike other games (WoT). They are pure vanity for the most part. That being said, $30+ is way too expensive. They need to keep Hero mechs in the $10-$15 range if they way me to purchase any more MC than came with my founders mech.

While some of the Heroes are not that great, the X5, Ilya and HM are not bad. They offer enough variety to be a reasonable alternative. Saying "They suck anyway" seems to be bit of an overreaction.

I bought it (along with thousands of others).

My attitude to spending money is that disposible income is called that for a reason. If I go to the cinema, I see a film and have nothing to show for the money other the memory of it. If I go out for a meal, the following morning, I'll be flushing it down the loo. If I go out for a few beers, the same thing happens only quicker. Even if I buy a game that I can play over and over again, chances are that I wont. Hell, many games never get finished at all. I've dropped hundreds of dollars on this game and I don't regret it; I've had my money's worth. In the same period, I've spent a damn site more on alcohol and I have nothing to show for that. At least I still have my hero mechs. My kids have a roof over their heads, clothes on their backs and food in their bellies. If I want to blow some dosh on a hero mech then no harm, no foul.

If others feel different, fine. If they don't like the prices then no one is forcing them to pay them. If they feel that the fact that I buy hero mechs maintains the prices above what they consider to be fair well that's how the world works. Market forces baby.

I don´t know if i would buy it again -
if ASK THE DEVS 35 wasn´t delayed till Monday and i knew what i know now -
that collision (aka Highlander Burial) is delayed till after launch.

Still a very solid mech.

While I think the Hero Mech's are absurdly over priced, I just choose not to buy them rather than whine about it. It is a F2P game, all F2P games follow this model. Yes, the word microtransaction is utter BS, but it is what it is. I paid my founders package simply because I knew it would be like this. I am happy that I did, best 60$ value for a game in years. I just use my MC for Mech Bays, premium time and a bit of over priced fluff.

While I am at it, I would love to give a thanks to the large number of Hero Highlander pilots, you my friends are single handedly making this game possible!
