Do they have a damage resistance when they are closed?

I thought it was 15% damage reduction when they're closed. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Think of missile doors like this:
If you don't have them or have them opened, you deal and take damage as normal.
If you have them and they are closed, you take less damage, but wait for a slight and noticeable delay (.5 seconds) before the missiles fire. The damage taken is 90% of normal (or 10% less damage).
If you don't have them or have them opened, you deal and take damage as normal.

Good explanation. Thanks for the clarification.

The damage resistance is only applied to installed components. It does nothing for your total armour or internals. Just the items installed in the location of the doors.

are you sure about that? (link pls) last i checked it was damage as a whole for that location.

pretty sure it's 10% critical hit reduction when closed
no additional penalty over a normal CHL when open
no additional penalty over a normal CHL when open

It's not 10% extra armor, it's 10% damage resistance for that component.
That includes damage from weapon fire and other sources like ammo explosions.

Death was right, if you dissagree you are wrong. period.

Yes, the doors reduce all damage taken on the section, not simply internal components I believe.
The confusion I think stems from Thomas's use of the word component, but I think he means component as in a mech section, like when you destroy a section and it says "component destroyed"

AFAIK, by default, these doors are closed.
