We all know that no one is going to change the catapult designs. This isn't about that.

I want to know which design do you prefer?

Classic (Link-source changed, due to implications of not loading for some. As designed in the table top models.)

MWO Founder's (Operation Inception)

MWO Standard

I know it's late, but remember if you want to change your votes you can delete your current vote and then vote for any and all of the mechs you like. (Hence why "I like all" or "I like this and this but not this" options are not available). Fourth option now below because I liked it!

Battletech 3050 (Tech readout manual? Or other source from tabletop) concept art. (I see where MWO got the specific shape for the missile pods from. The very same House Liao flag is posted on the exterior of the mech's concept art in the MWO Current Catapult as tribute.)

Note: I would have listed the MW2 Catapult as well since I was fascinated (Never saw Inner Sphere mechs in the Titanium PC edition of MW2, and the expansion mercenaries was incompatible so I thought it was included with the titanium PC edition. However I fail to see it as being much different from the above fourth option.

I think the snub nose looks a lot cooler and more aggressive than the beak nose.

The founders one looks sleek. The snub nose doesn't do anything and the classic is kinda chubby looking.

Something wrong with the classic's link?

Changed link's source. Does it work now?

Yikes, that torso is massive. It looks like a Bullet Bill.

I think that's the actual thing that kept the classic in the support role of long range indirect-fire. It just simply wasn't viable for rushing the battlefield with SRMs due to its sheer girth.

I just can't get over how massively disproportionate the missile pods are on the classic design. I mean, look at them! The mech deserves stickers for ages 3+ because those are so small they are in danger of swallowing! It's even worse on the TT models!
When it comes to the MWO Cats, though, the extra frills on the founders makes it look cool, and the beak keeps it classic. Thus I prefer the founders one.

In one of the ask the devs, someone asked if there would be an option to buy external mech accessories, such as different heads for the Atlas or beaks for the Catapult. The answer was "Yes. Eventually."

So chin up!

Personally I'm looking forward to putting a beak on the K2, A1 and C4.

Current, I like the liberties they took with the catapult.
