Not really a troll thread at all. It is pretty funny though to see people who would spend 10 tons on an AC5 plus ammo while sacrificing armor and speed potential for the liability of ammo explosions and less heat.

For the record, I have now seen in game play footage a Hunchback HBK-4P with eight medium lasers...

Since it comes stock with six already, I can't fault the owner for adding two more...

I found out this is normal for the HBK-4P variant. Sorry for the confusion.

P.S. This video has some mistakes in the commentary since PGI did not seem to explain much to the interviewers. However, watching this video and seeing how they broke down the screen information helped me to learn things I had not known before. I learned something new about targeting and weapon groups that had been explained with words but not in pictures, seeing it now makes sense.

The Swayback (4P) comes with 8 ML. The two standard arm lasers, plus six that replace the AC20 (as well as 10 more heat sinks)

Anyways, sorry that I did not realize the HBK-4P had eight medium lasers, seemed excessive to me.

And people ask "why play a medium mech?"

I used 'excessive' because It stood out as being something I did not expect, so I assumed that it was customized in the mechlab.

Having a balanced game is important, and some of the crazy things that would happen in Battle Tech cant really convey over to this game.
But that does not mean this game will not be a competitive powerhouse on the internet.
Free to play games such as this one are going to have the upper hand in the next few years.

Key word for profit.
Customization.
