Buddy System.
Know where your allies are at all times, and learn how to sucker them into following you into an ambush.
I also prefer to use alternate fire with my lasers when fighting a light mech instead of striking with multiples at once, it allows me to track where to fire to damage the enemy.

This too. I usually alternate left and right, but I'll alpha if they decide to stop or go in a straight line.

Use terrain. I also like to zig zag in and out of buildings. Coming again to a halt just as they loose sight so as they follow you around a corner they run into a trap and you can get in behind where the armor is much weaker.
With that jenner OP I like 6 med lasers. They deliver a lot of damage to one point instantly.
Like others say, too. Try lead them as you battle towards favorable areas. A single alfa blast from an assault friendly can quickly turn a 50/50 battle into a one shot kill. Also, don't let them lead you. Be mindful of your surroundings -
Lastly, don't be afraid to run away. If the situation looks bad and your in over your head, get help. Regroup with your main force, since only a fool of a light pilot would follow you. Live today to fight tomorrow. A dead light mech is no good to anyone.
Practice!

I disagree with the above. I play with 300+ ping on average and it's not an issue with lasers as your main weapons due to HSR.

Not convinced that HSR levels the playing field between a 20 and 310 ping. Perhaps my technical know-how just isn't up to scratch to understand why it does make things equal but in practice I lack confidence in it delivering as promised.

Anyway with that ping stick to laser based weapons, you won`t hit unless your a good lag shooter.
Also I have noticed half the time lasers won`t do damage but the end match says you did. How did I do 171 damage JUST to a ravens legs with 4 pulse lasers?

But if you are using a Jenner the body/center is easier to hit so suggest Raven, Commando or Cicada (Until missile problem is sorted).
Biggest advantage with Jenner is jump, stop thinking in 2D. So practice with jump, jump turns and skips (Dusting) which all help throw off the other pilots aim. As well as looking for scenery to help you.
Also valid points already made for using Pulse Lasers, but you need to be a good shot and pick your targets.

You're winning 50% of your fights vs opponent lights? Nothing wrong with that.
It's better than me when I pilot a light or medium and encounter a light. My skill in light/mediums is poor. Sounds to me like yours is okay, honestly!

i dont do the circle of death. i dodge, use cover, jump and spin around for shots but if i see a raven i usually die.
i tried ssrms in a differrent jenner but lock on time took too long. i tried pulse weapons but that didnt seem to help. i may be bad as i have trouble aiming at the same point and may be spreading the damage love too much.
does anyone have any pointers for lights fighting other lights.
Try running in a figure 8.
It confuses all
but the most experienced
and will allow you
to get behind the mech
which is
a very good place to be.

The guy with the "tail" wins. IE. the light mech chasing the other light mech wins.
Don't circle strafe. Do something to get in behind them and then stay behind them. This is naturally easier when you are faster than them, but achievable even if not if you know what you are doing.
I... do not... entirely too often. But I understand the concept and pull it off from time to time. I've even taken out ECM+Streak Raven 3L's in a COM-3A (like, three times now, maybe? Against anyone that wasn't braindead at least.)

Although as an occasional 3L pilot, my Streaks never seem to fire backwards, and seem to hit all torsos. Maybe I just don't have the good streaks.

I think it is the 360 lock and target decay modules at work - I shake and juke and break LOS with hills/jumping but the damn things keep coming - and there are several threads showing armor diagrams of cored CTs with yellow armor (not into internals) everywhere else. I driver Spiders a lot recently and streaks are my bane - CT every darn time.
If the guy earlier was being sarcastic I apologize if I misinterpreted it but have seen enough guys not being sarcastic and acting a similar way that I may have jumped to conclusion. If not - comment stands
