I have all the Phracts now, it's my favorite heavy mech thus far. When I got my Ilya Muromets, with the xl engine it didn't matter what I did, I got cored in a few shots OFTEN. This happened a lot less in the regular Phracts, and since I went to a 240 engine and more armo in the IM, its just that I'm a below average pilot when I die fast, not the mechs fault. But the IM in standard config was like glass in the torso and sides with the xl.

I have noticed quick deaths in cataphracts as well (both playing and killing) that seem unusual. I also am not that great in a heavy/assault of any kind, which likely has some impact.

Can you please stop formatting your posts like that? It's quite annoying to read.

I have died quite quickly in a cata only because I was the first mech around the corner/hill and got melted. Generally do far better, when I follow an atlas around the corner or something bigger, more armored then me. You live better, huh, think about that.

CTF 4x best mech I have ever used yet for heavys....and thats sayin something since I used to be a DRG5N pilot and LOVED IT......poor UAC's, you were what made the Dragon...a Dragon.

Bravery level: SO BRAVE.

Yeah, you tell all those haters off because you're so UnIqUeAnDrAnDoM rite guize?

Anyway topic at hand - I've spent most of my time playing in CTF's and they do seem pretty squishy but when you do the math it adds up right. They -are- squishy. If you have an XL engine you literally can not survive more than 2 AC/40 to a LT or RT even if you put 100% of your armor to the side being hit. It's a 2-shot kill no matter what you do. Which is a little depressing. One shot is low red armor, 2nd shot is death.

Just gotta stay back and let others take the heat, no way around it.

Agreed, if something like this bothers you, you are easily bothered.

You don't have to be bothered to feel compelled to respond to asinine comments in kind. It could be for equally trivial reasons like oh say, principle. Or if you're one of those grammar/ocd nutters.

It's like if some naked guy ran past you while you walked down the sidewalk yelling in your face as he ran past, and then you randomly flipped him off or something.

Am I cool yet guys? Guys? Please tell me I annoy you so I can feel good about myself! It's all I have to live for any more.

Cataphrachts have notorious weak points and are very easy to take out if they are mounting XLs. There might also be some legendary ammo explosions going on. Who knows?

as an avid phract pilot I have definitely noticed something wrong with my armor, I seem to die much more easily than I have before with no real changes to my mechs

Everyone has learned where to shoot the Catapult on Testing Grounds. It's vulnerable from above and behind, side torsos if an XL Engine is used. Plus, everyone is capable of getting a headshot on any mech now so try to keep some lateral movement going to minimize the chance of a headshot. The cockpit is a fat target if you are standing still or coming straight on, but side movement makes it very hard to hit.

Looool!!!!! Where you get things like this???

My favorite Mech is the Cataphract.i have the ilya,2X,3D,4X...Ilya,3D and 2X have Xls the 4X a standard. But i noticed that on myself that i get more killed then before in all 4 models....I thought its me,cause i had a accident and my right hand is broken,so my aimming and torso twists are not same like normal.I have to test this with standard engines in the 2x,3D and Ilya and see whats happen.

This. The Phract has a broad chest and low Head hit box. They die easy because they are a good target. Like Awesomes.
