So I kit my DD out with twin AC20's nearly 60 rounds of ammo, and then along comes a light I hit him 3 times with both barrels that's 6 hits in a row, and the little **** still reads 96% armor huh? I then proceed to waist the rest of my ammo on him and he still kills me with twin ML's, and that's not the first time its happened, how can lights take so much frigging damage?... and don't say learn to lead your shots, I was, and I no when I was hitting him, its just pointless

HSR for ballistics is "supposed" to be coming with new patch. Until then, L2... use lasers.

There are some times where you will see your ballistics "connect" with an enemy whereas it is really not registering as a hit. I believe this is why they are still working on implementing the rewind state for ballistics.

What's the point of boating? Good point. Maybe not boat a cheesy dual Ac20 and take a more balanced build?

HSR on ballistic will just push to AC20 cheese and 6 PPC cheese.

Yeah its crazy frustrating. Basically if your crosshairs dont turn red you didnt hit - despite what effect you see on screen.

Host state rewind (the functionality that improved hit detection for lasers) is scheduled to go live for ballistics on the 16th. Should see a major difference then.

Everygame has to have an option for the less skilled player and in MWO it's lights, particularly ravens with their ECM and SSRM. Yes they are hard to hit, yes they move so fast you can't track them, yes they can jam your missiles and yes then can avoid most lasers and AC's this is why MWO needs them. Can you imagine how dreadful these players would be in a large Mech that is easy to hit and can't run away, they would not last 10 seconds.

So take it from me, when they kill you, you know that they had a machine far superior to yours and if you kill them, well they may as well quit video gaming.

Before I get flamed, I agree not all light pilots are unskilled, some are children that are simply too young to have proper hand/eye coordination so a light mech is great for them aswell as they cah hit and then run away unscathed. ;)

You may not like it, but he's right.
Just because it hit the mech model, does not mean it actually hit, due to latency and speed of mech movement.

Sometimes that's the case. Sometimes the lights have actual skill. Both are true.

Yep, you missed.

When you hit a light with dual AC20's, it's glorious. Their mech will either flat out die, lose a limb, or at least have some deeply critted out section.

I remember in closed beta when only the best players ran light mechs, those were the days I learned to love the Jenner.

Then came DHS, Endo, and removal of collisions.

Now light mechs can actually deal damage and aren't in danger or becoming roadkill the moment they screw up.

Now, I routinely splat Ravens and the occasional Jenner/Cicada in all of my mechs, but it's still much easier to pilot lights than it used to be.

Too bad this game is devolving into a CoD like circle strafe fest.

True perhaps, but when the experienced players, who team up in groups of four run them, another potential customer uninstalls. Not sure if there is a solution for that, but it certainly makes it un-fun for those who refuse to "sink to their level". I'd guess theyve lost alot more income from mid range gamers who dont want to play tiny terror fest, than theyll gain from little kids playing because they can run 3Ls.

I dont understand why so many in this community like Call of Duty so much, that they want to mimic it in MWO. :(
