I think much like the discount on 'mechs and weapons, it'd be neat if specific faction loyalities offered discounts or even unlock availability of unique faction-loyalist support stuff.

For example, if an airstrike (when it actually has graphics that aren't hilarious) is called, you could get an entirely different bomber/fighter depending on your faction alignment; or optionally, some powers might only come from specific faction alignments or planet bonuses.

For example, perhaps a system where specific worlds produce a slightly superior tracking module, but in order to obtain it (at a discount?) those worlds need to be in your faction's borders.

It could do more towards adding some flavor to the various factions without restricting 'mechs past the discount.
