The SDR-5D is a great 'mech, one of my favourites.

Slap in a couple of MPLs, an ML, and ECM, and you're sweet. Run with full jumpjets and armour, don't need any extra heatsinks.

Too bad about the 5K and 5V. Even without ECM, the 5D is the superior 'mech.

When I see a Spider-K in my team, I die a little.

You must be piloting an Atlas. I hear the SDR-5K is particularly deadly vs them.

I pilot a lot of things, but seeing a Spider-K or even a Spider-V in my team means I'm expecting to fight 7 on 8 and seldom am I wrong.

I like using my Spiders to shoot Atlases in the butt, to harass snipers, and to win by cap, usually in the same match.

I hear its six machine guns can core an atlas in 1.2 seconds.

When working with a 3-second Jenner wingman, it can be done in about a quarter of a second.

I just slapped a LPL in my Spider K and made the best of it. Tried it with ERLL first, ran too hot so I installed DHS- when I swapped to the LPL I had some silly heat efficiency like 2.1 or something.

My 5K has 2.15 heat efficiency:

But that's nothing compared to the 5V:

I wonder why I slapped DHS onto a 'mech with just 2 energy hardpoints... And then only used one for an ML (the other got a TAG). 1.5 million CB down the drain :)

Oh, and that Firepower rating for the 5K thinks the MGs have 2 damage each... I wonder if that's where the devs look when they say the MG is fine? The actual firepower is 10.6 (ERLL + 4xMG)

A spider is definitely going to be my next buy.

The utility you get from piloting a light mech is too good to pass up.

they're just so damn entertaining. I've nearly killed myself a dozen times jumping so much. It's the only mech in the game so far that lets me relive abit of my enjoyment from the firestorm pods.

The spiders are by far the most fun mech to pilot for me. though I must say, the 5V is defiantly my favorite. I have 2 MPL, an XL 255, all 12 JJ, and double heatinks (becasue why not?) on mine and it is an absolute joy to drive. at 151~kph (with speed tweek) and that many jumps I feel more like I'm piloting an aerotech fighter then a mech! I can generally do much better with the 5V than I can with the 5D or even my Raven 3L.

Very deadly. Some might say devastating even.
