I currently own a stalker 3F, and thats it. I keep changing the loadout on it so im always broke, so i want something i can play with to switch it up, so i can actually save up some CB. A brawler would be preferable, hero or not, doesnt matter. I just have been looking at the mech list for two days now and cant make up my mind. Halp.

Don't you want to get that mech up to master first? Once you cap the mechs tree it's a whole different experience.

you should look in too heavy mechs. they have pleanty of firepower and heat efficent. i would recomend phract.

Cataphracts or ravens.

They will always be relevant mechs regardless of buffs/nerfs to other things.

I'll second the cataphract it was my 5th mech to master and I love it. Though my spider 5-D will always be a guilty pleasure of mine to drive.

I'm just going to ask this since you state that you are always broke due to changing your loadout:
Are you aware that parts can be removed from your mech and stored for later by dragging them off the mech and into the list of items to the right?

Yes I am, I am just very impatient, so I sell my parts to get what I want faster

I can offer three suggestions.

The CTF-1X; you can do 5x Large Laser with a 340XL for a fast and flexible 'Mech - not really an outstanding brawler, but you could always go with 5x Medium Laser + 1x AC/20 with a 300 Standard Engine.

The Jagermech is also a good option; you can do 2x AC/20 with a 300XL with any of them, if you want short-range firepower at the cost of resilience.
If XLs seem to be too expensive or you don't like their trade-offs, you could use a CPLT-K2 instead, though grinding XP for the rest of the Catapult variants could prove difficult since the missile damage hotfix.

I do own an Ilya and I can say it's a good 'Mech, but most Ilya builds rely on the use of XLs; he may not prove to be very enduring in short-range fights if that's what you have in mind.
On the other hand, 3x UAC/5 on the Mamorset is always fun.

I use 3x ERPPC myself, though.
