Now if only we were able to put the names in so they showed up in the target info tags as well. Then you could know if you're going after a 'mech of reknown'.

Yeah.....

...but think of all the ways people would find to abuse it.
IE: think of all the user names that get censored - and people are a lot more "relaxed" with their mech-names

Grid Iron = Walter Payton (you can guess the color scheme)
Heavy Metal = Rhonda Snord (you know why)
X-5 = The Garth
Dragon Flame = Onyxia
Orion Protector = Kerensky

I thought I posted this somewhere once before but there was no * on this thread.

I won't bother with chassis versions. Here is the list so far:
Sekator
Reanimator
Karburator
Terminator
Defibrylator
Deflator
Animator
Predator
Inflator
Separator
Kunktator
Dekorator
Exterminator
Dehydrator
Wibrator (this is CN9-A(C) from an event ;)
Perforator

Polish words mostly. Inspired by the nicknames of the books review from the old Polish science fiction magazine that were used around 1989.
I'm having problems with another -ator words though.

Raven 3-L: Azarath
Raven 4-X: Metrion
Raven 2-X: Zinthos

The first chassis I played in MWO was the 2-X. I could do a fair bit of damage with her, but I never had enough credits to put a good engine in her. We had our rough spots, but I still consider Zinthos to be a tough, reliable old bird; even if she and her sister Metrion have to share an engine (because I'm cheap XD).

The mech I truly fell in love with was my second chassis, the 3-L. Azarath hits hard, fast, and has all the electronic warfare equipment any true Raven class mech should: ECM, BAP, as well as the Advanced Sensor Range, Advanced Target Decay, Target Info Gathering, and 360 Target Retention modules. Her loadout includes 2 medium lasers, 2 streak srm's with 2 tons of ammo, a TAG to provide some added support, and the XL-295 engine which pushes me to 150.2 kph, as well as all possible upgrades.

I have tried a couple of other mechs, but none have I grown more attached to than Azarath. So much so I couldn't help but give her (and her sister mechs) a good colour scheme to match their namesake: a deep, dark blue base with violet and blue highlights.

Anyway, it was really fun reading all these mech names. I can't wait to meet you all (possibly again) on the battlefield. Keep an eye out for me!

You need to check if your chief mechanic is Dr. Doofenschmirtz.

Yeah  A friend of mine suggested me that Doctor as a great source for -ator names. But the fact is it is too easy to do it in English

I don't have many named mechs, but this is what I have:

AS7-D(F): Ultrasmurf - It's blue and white and looks like a "Spess Marine"

STK-5M: Ceiling mech - after an MW:O meme going back to closed beta. (and yes, he'still watching you break the NDA)

RVN-3L: Van Darnus - The mech originally had an all-white color scheme, I have a legacy character in FFXIV, and so I named my Raven after this guy:

Would have been Nael Van Darnus, but couldn't fit his whole name.

Fun topic thread. I've a lot of mechs... 58 mech bays filled in fact, so I'm not inclined to list em all, but most all are named. A few of the standouts...

My Ravens, which I started playing when they came out in November 2012. I named them then, not recently.

My Raven 4x = Huginn (AC 20, 2X MED LASER, 3 TONS AMMO, 1 JJ)
My Raven 2x = Muninn (3 ER LARGE LASER, ADVANCED ZOOM, ADVANCED SENSORS)
My Raven 3L = Odin's (STANDARD ENGINE, STREAKS, MED LASERS, ECM sometimes.)

Kinda fit with the times, since the 3L was really the premier mech of the day and so many ran it, taking advantage of the lag shield, ecm, herky jerky movement pattern and great hitboxes stretching up the sides of the CT, generally guaranteeing spreading of damage. Standard engine raven was flat out as bad as a standard engine spider, which people are still moaning about now.

My first mechs ever, when I started in October 2012, were the commandos. I loved the little buggers and gravitated to making SRM commando's rather than streak commandos where I could. They always remained low kdr, but still positive, usually in the 1.2 -1.5 range. They were ambushers, coming at people with a concentrated burst of SRMS, or else a quick flurry of chain fired SRMS into backside. When SRM damage was nerfed humongously, they lost their punch, but I still have used them to effect. Much to my amusement, after I won duels with other lights, mediums and even heavies using my srms, sometimes even chained SRM2 (not streaks), people would QQ about streak commandos all the more. Go figure.

Commando 2d = Spook (3XSRM4, 1 MEDIUM LASER, ECM)
Commando 3a = Fleur (2x MEDIUM LASER, 1 SRM 6,1 SRM 4 (have done 2xSRM6 but ammo issues)) (Fleur as in death flower)
Commando 3b = Scrub (3xMEDIUM LASER, likely an SRM6/NARC, but it's been a long while since I've piloted it.)
Commando- Death's Knell = Death Smell (4 MEDIUM LASERS, or sometimes 4 MEDIUM PULSE, slower engine of course)

I've many others of course but these came to mind, thought they were a bit amusing.
