I just did some math on my premium time.
Does premium time activate right when you buy it?
Because mine is. Bought 30 days during the special and I'm at 24...
Does this have anything to do with being a founder?

No. It activates when you buy it and counts down from there. It does not affect your founders time if you have not used.
I would not be buying premium right now. You run the risk of a Tuesday patch borking you and you lose out on 50% or maybe 100% depending on how fast they fix the new bug(s) they created.

No kidding, well then hell, I'm not going to buy premium time anymore, all I do is wind up wasting it.

You can buy Premium Time on a per-day or per-week purchase, as well as longer. Maybe you have a free Saturday and nothing to do but play MWO so that is a great time to buy PT, even if you wouldn't normally play very often for a whole week or month. I think their flexible system is quite nice.

Right now I would buy PT on a single day or at the most 7 day basis. A bit more expensive, but "safer" with regards to patches and also more flexibility in planning.

I'm such a noob. What's the difference from premium time and just playing the game for free? Why can't I find answers to these questions on the site lol..

Greeting MechWarriors.
While we are on the topic of PT. I have a quick question (tried searching but it was wierd and now I feel all dirty)...
If I buy 24 hours (1day) of PT, will it last for a straight 24 hours or for 24 hours of 'game time' i.e me being logged-in and playing?
So in effect, if I buy 24 hours (1 day) and only play 4 hours a day, does it last 6 days?
Thanks.

It would be for 24 hours whether you play or not.

Well, to me, that sucks... If only I didn't have those pesky needs to work/sleep/eat/drink-and be merry...
PGI: FYI...... 'No cash for you!' (apart from the MC I have already bought of course

There's a thread in the Suggestion forum about having more options available for premium time. The ability to buy hourly/5hour/whatever would cater to folks who feel like their time is wasted. Check it out and let PGI know if you think it's a good idea.

There are also plenty of calls to have subscription options, although I doubt that would happen. I would like to also see the usual "Lifetime" options as well. I would seriously consider that if they had it for a reasonable price.

I second this. The last 2 patches have made MWO practically unplayable for me.. I had *just* bought 30 days of premium.. that's now ticking away and I can't use it.

Yeah i dont buy premium time anymore due to the constant countdown methodology. Shame really, just another 'underhand' tactic to money grab which forces me to keep my wallet in my pocket, their loss.
