Alright, I just wanted to see what the forum going community thinks is the hardest weapon to aim out of PPCs/Ballistics, LRMS, and Lasers.

Personally between the three I find LRMs are actually the hardest to hit with. They travel slow, enemies have time to move to cover, lights can dodge them, and there is even ECM and AMS to protect against LRMs... and that's all while trying to hold the lock-on on the moving enemy for anywhere between 3 and 13 seconds.

What is your opinion and most importantly: Why do you have that opinion?

Seeing as LRM's can be locked on - easy
Lasers, you don't need to lead but need to keep sustained aim for X amount of time - moderate
Ballistics, not affected by HSR yet, need to lead, compensate for convergence, compensate for tragectory speed, compensate for arc - hard

For me, lasers. I'm coming from TF2 and Tribes, so I'm pretty used to leading targets and whatever, but my tracking skills are abysmal. I'd imagine it varies with your playstyle and your ping.

Anyone that votes LRMs is nothing more than a fanboy.

I usually don't lag and am very used to weapons like the ballistics of MechWarrior and weapons like the laser, but I haven't seen a game with rockets quite like the LRMs of MWO.

LRMs: easy to aim, but if the enemy cares and is competent hard to hit with.
Lasers: easy to at least touch the enemy, hard to get full damage.
Projectiles: hard to aim, but you only need one moment of proper aim rather than needing the follow-through of lasers or LRMs.

Id say indirect LRMs. Because I have to rely on another person to aim for me, it is sometimes frustrating.

Regular SRMS are hard to aim also, maybe a tiny bit easier than ballistics since you are only aiming out to 270m. Arty helps but they still require near similar skill to ballistics IMO.

I find the AC2 very difficult to hit with at range. The speed of projectile is good, and I will hit with the first shot, but keeping damage on target at 1200+ is tough.

I am most accurate with the AC10. About 80% of my shots have landed, and I use the AC10 a LOT.

As to the poll, I don't think it is really accurate. I find many differences between the ACs/PPCs based on projectile speed+ROF. And all lasers are pretty easy to hit with, even if you do not concentrate the damage very well.

I get ya, but that is not "aiming" really, that's coordination. VOIP can make that much much easier.

Ballistics for sure but mainly because of my higher ping playing from the UK.

Ballistics because of lag. No competition.

Close call between LRM's and Ballistics. Gonna have to go with LRM's.

Missiles or lasers, ballistics and PPCs are easy to aim

Pressing R is too hard, buff the R key.

As crap! A male fan of something! I'm insulted and feel ashamed of liking a weapon in a game now!

As someone who plays between 5-15 fps due to a poor computer and lack of funds for any kind of upgrades but still tries to have fun i have no legal right to answer because I am poor to hit with anything, but I will go ahead and say ballistics because at low fps an enemy can be in sights one second but in an attempt to compensate for movement can easily be not in sights with even a minor correction, so ballistics are evil to me. Lasers at least do something for me lol.

Ballistics/PPCs are definitely the hardest to hit with for me due to my high ping... hopefully the ballistic state rewind will come into effect with the next patch! *crosses fingers*
