MWO Public Casual - NA

For those of you wanting to play casually and not have to worry about your skill level then this is the server for you. Because this is a completely casual server, there are no Clan Channels.

Why does that matter you might ask?
Well other servers that support Clan Channels usually have a lot more "seasoned" and hardcore players. Newcomers to the game or those not used to playing via a voice com may often feel pressured by these seasoned players when joining random Dropships. This should never be the case here.

In a casual server, you do not need to worry about your skill level or tactical knowledge, we just want to have a good time talking and playing whether we win or lose our matches. Come here to learn without being pressured.

The server is not populated at the moment with anyone but myself (because it's new) so bring some friends with you when you join! :(

----------
If this channel kicks off and grows, I will likely need a few moderators. If anybody feels they would be online and in the channel often enough to be a moderator, and is of a responsible and mature nature please let me know.

Name: MWO Public Casual - NA (North America)

Address: mwopublic-casual.sytes.net
Direct IP:
174.45.116.62

Password: No password is required

Slots: 100 starting

I really need to know how to get a headphone/mic set up. I tried a USB headset (one of the high end Logitech ones) and quite frankly it sucked. I was told headsets with 3.5mm plugs are better, but I am using my motherboard's built in sound card so I don't know if it will work with headphones.

Before I got a headset, I had this logitech mic here ($30 5 years ago) Posted Image

And I must say it worked great. I had to go into the teamspeak settings and adjust some of the voice capture properties, since it picked up every little bit of sound. But it worked great.

However, if you have the money definitely invest in a headset. You can get a pretty good headset at target/walmart for around $40-50. Look around the Xbox/PS3 area and buy one of those headsets for the consoles that say they are PC compatible. They work great.

I use a $20 headset/mic from Walmart with a USB connection. It works fine, never had any problems with it.

I am still using mine and I bought it for ~$20 about 5 years ago as well.

I prefer my headphones and mic to be separate, so I can still use push to talk with my speakers on, and not have to wear the phones I'm not using around my neck

Praise logitech!

Just drop 50 bucks on a Turtle Beach X12. Bam, all of your mic/headset problems are solved. It's extremely affordable and built with a nice level of quality.

It's crazy how long some things will just work, I swear my logitech mic of 5 years is just as good as any current table top mic of the same price range, if not better.

I use a headset now though just because I feel I can hear peoples voices better and so that I can use voice activation rather than push to talk. And also when I play at midnight or later I don't have to have my volume super low.

I still use a mic like that! I have a habit of either sitting or standing on headsets, I've gone through so many. Great to see another TS3 channel! (there is a pinned topic for TS3 channels too)

I did put it in the pinned topic also, however, I don't think new players will ever see it. They kind of threw that thread down where nobody is going to see it. Not many people go to the fan corner of the forums, let alone newcomers.

Edit: wow.. looks like this was thrown into the deep.. never to be seen by anyone.

I feel your pain, genuinely! One of the reasons why I have tried to consolidate all fan and community projects into one list is to make it easier for the community to find stuff. Vote, Like and Report my list for the pin please.

EDIT CAUSE YOU ALREADY HAVE :D

Small suggestion, repeat what you say in you image banner, as text. I've found that sometimes it makes a huge difference to mix message formats. Some pick up the image whilst others (like me) work better with text!

Thanks, Ill do that. and yeah sucks that they just throw everything down here, the relevant people im looking for are not going to be found in "Fansite" seeing this has nothing to do with fansites... arrgh..

I will try to do what I can (given my limited time and other projects) to increase traffic flow to this part. At the end of the day it is all up to us, together. For example, some of you more popular types (I am not one of them because I give PGI a hard time) can organize Beer and Mech nights via this community section. Record your battles etc and make threads in the vid section etc.
