It doesn't matter in the slightest what the title is. They're still adding core elements, content, and fixing bugs.

mmm, no, I believe it's the lack of fixing certain bugs that's the source of much of the angst.

You guys are funny... I used to work for a company that was heavy in the credit business. They would send out updates to the software that they used to determine if someone was approved. Every now and then it would break, not everything just enough to slow things down. But when this happened it was all hands on deck because they did not want to lose money. I think PGI needs to take a similar approach on this. And no I am not saying everyone should drop what they are doing until its fixed but more of a lets not add more until we have attempted a fix attitude. Beta or not people are paying for this game... and with that comes expatiation. I know your gonna say then dont pay.. but thats what OP is trying to say I think. I'm paying and would like to keep paying so dont mess it up. Which to me is a valid request from someone that is paying money. If PGI did not want its people that pay to have expatiation then they should have gotten investors to fund beta.

But where the problem lies is that people are putting money into a product they know is unfinished but working towards that end. BEFORE they give PGI money they need to think like this:

What is needed is people who understand they are consumers, but have the mentality of investors. Give them your money because you see the potential of a growing product, then give them the room to build that product to fit a mass audience...

Yes, a game breaking bug would annoy anyone, but people are assuming they're not fixing it because of some grand conspiracy or simply because they don't want to, and other silly things.

That's the only way I can justify the amount I have and continue to invest into this product. It's because I want it to succeed.

As we all do but facts are fact PGI made a game that does not represent what most wanted out of a MechWarrior game and have waited 10+ years for. PGI would have been better off remaking Mechwarrior2-Mechwarrior4 with enhanced graphics and sound then adding planetary game launcher/chat lobby's for private play. Instead we have a WOT-COD-FPS knockoff that is boring as hell. Most players would have overlooked many of the bugs if the game would have been made properly to start with. As I pointed out go by a Wal-Mart 200-300 $ computer which would represent the norm and see if MWO plays well on it? I doubt it.

Ok, so you're saying that it's ok to lay on 10 years of expectations on a small developer? Let alone their original idea got shut down due to liscensing rights they didn't have? If anyone is unsatisfied then by all means don't give them money and if the dissapointment is not sated after that decision then those people need to simply walk away and find something else? The minimum comp specs to play the game were posted way before the Founders were let into the CB anyways. If people didn't look for them then get upset because their computer can't play it then the fault is on them for being an uninformed consumer.

While I can appreciate the majority of your sentiment, the bit about a WalMart computer is irrelevant in one sense: That's really just a matter of optimization and enhanced by providing options for scaling down the video/graphical settings. Running well on low-end machines is really not on the same plane as bug fixes, or something to really expect out of a pre-launch product.

Yeah. OP is wrong for pointing out that the game is getting worse stability wise. We should suck it up and keep going on as is if everything is fine-and-dandy. Anyone doing so is wrong because:
  • BETA
  • learn2play
  • get a better machine
  • Working as intended ©
  • and the best one of all:Posted Image
Note: Nothing is wrong with positive thoughts, however seriously guys..., September. Regardless if you feel the OP could have worded it better, he has a legitimate concern. In the mean time, It is patch day. Let's see what happens. :P

Worse? We have laser state rewind and apparently getting ballistic state rewind today, then missiles next month. Not to mention I can't remember actually crashing since closed beta. Compared to closed beta, it's gotten much more stable.

Makes me always smile when the White Knights come and tell that users are not allowed to complain about bugs that exist since aeons or features that were removed and never fixed again (falling) because they can't comprehend how difficult it is to program.

How is that of any interest? They take money, they have to deliver. Seriously, people are paying money for premium time and can't play because the game is so bugged. Do they get the time refunded? Don't think so.

Just imagine in real life, you give a plumber money so he fixxes the pipes in your house. An hour later your house is under water, but he comes back every week to look at the pipes and takes your money, of course never fixing it. And when you criticise him he tells you to shut up because you have no idea how difficult plumbing is and that you are not entitled to complain.

Best way to ensure MWO stays as stable as possible on the client side.

Build win 7 from disk. Run windows update, install microsoft security essentials, install team speak. Take acronis image of system.

Download & install drivers for vid card. DL and install MWO.

Play MWO happily until next patch. After Patch, reimage PC, DL vid card drivers, DL and install MWO. Enjoy MWO until next patch.

Bad example, plumbing isn't a complex system. Should have used a mechanic as your analogy.

This would be fine if it was a cure for cancer or something important.

You've got to be kidding if you think i'm going to spend tonnes of money to maybe possibly fund a game which I might end up enjoying. Especially when there is evidence of the studio not being able to handle the job.

Your mistake was assuming it's a finished product right now, which I'm not sure why you would think that.
