so i just had a match on Alpine Conquest in my Com 3M

me and another light did our best to cap everything but sadly rest of our team was taken out, we take out their only light and split up to TRY and cap what we can in hopes that we can win on points. so i head to epi (from theta) teammate goes to recap sigma.

by time i reach e5 area i can already tell its a lost cause and i spot on one of the hills looking towards sigma an LRM boat Atlas (launching missles at my teammate while he spares with someone who went to intercept him
and an Awesome with 4 ppc. his front CT was alittle softened up and he wasnt firing or anything so i figured hey why not.

instead of going to epi i veered off and got in his face and opened up on him
(my 3M has 2 small lasters an, SRM6 and SRM4 so i can have almost max armor) i get off 2 salvos before he starts reacting which is when the best part happens
he blasts his teammate who is standing alittle ways in front of him in the back..... this happens TRHEE TIMES.

i ended up killing him just before enemy team hit 750 but the fact he blasted his own team mate not once but 3 times was just cake.


so anyways, anyone have any stories of those in game moments that made you smile?

The moment I shot a Jenner out of the air in Closed Beta with an ER PPC in my CN9-AL. Nothing was more satisfying than the pop and crackle of that XL blowing up, with the skeleton falling head over heels into a skyscraper in the lower city of River City, sliding down the rest of the way to slump into a pile of salvage. Nothing beats that moment for me.

Getting stuck on geometry, pretending I was AFK and -SURPRISE!- blasting the remaining 2 enemy mechs (ECM Commandos) to snot with my 4xSRM6 Awesome, KERBLAMMO.

Facing down a damaged Atlas coming right for my 5xAC2 Jager.

I run out of ammo just as his "hug" passes through me.

I turn to face him as he turns to face me.

I fire 2xSL backup weapons into the red CT.

He dies.

Just before that match I was all "I never use these, I should drop them for a heat sink." Nope. They stay. Forever.

Sneaking up behind a sniping mech in one of my autocannon jagermechs (either dual ac/20 or 4x ultra autocannon)

When I can, I like to type out "Y HULLO THAR MISTER INSERTMECHNAME!", then open fire.

Getting behind the lines and sneaking up on a Trebuchet in Toumaline with my Death's Knell.
Stood behind him and took two or three seconds to consider where to hit him best. Decided for a leg.
Shot once: He didn't notice.
Shot twice: Noticed something is going on, turned his torso but legs stood still.
Shot thirt time: Leg gone.
Alas I couldn't stay and finish him because a SRM-Centurion came up to help him.
But I had such a wide grin when I ran away!

Ah, I miss SRM's.

And I now respect you for rolling with 4 UAC's also. No armor, No ammo, No speed, Minimal team impact, AWESOME, BRAIN MELTING DAKKA.

I once blew the leg off a cataphract and proceeded to watch ammo explosions ripple through every part of it's body.

Induce friendly fire between enemy with my ERPPC-3L. Sneak up behind enemy lines, find the right target and shoot him in the back at the right moment. Watch him turn and look at his buddies, wait 10 sec, and fire again - and hopefully watch your target send an alpha in the face of his teammate.

Moving to the enemy base on caustic. Streak raven moving to the base so he can easy mode my Jenner. I run. all the way back to my team while keeping out of streak range. Cheese raven want the kill so bad and gets too close. I leg and kill it just as it try to escape into the crater.

Was,, was it good for you too, cheese raven? At least it made me smile.

Legging a Raven and watching it turn and look at me with puppy eyes (or weapons ), while I line up for an alpha or a hard hitter single shot.

Always makes me smile.

2 v 1 against 2 lights in my slow Jagermech and destroying both of them. Happened a few times so far and it's always fun.
