Where in the game or menus did the crash occur? Right before Map loading and my group finding a match
What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring? Complete re-install
Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps? Yes
What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch? Everything is on highest 1920x1080. Same values as I have always used
What are your System specs?

In some cases I'm seeing it right as the mech start up kicks, a few times mid-game. What's odd is I didn't see it the week immediately following the last patch.
Other than Security related Windows 7 fixes, no changes to my video drivers etc.

Now, I have it on 3 different configurations every 4-5 matches. It is really annoying.
I really hope PGI will start addressing quality of content they release before quantity...

Last time I saw these no. of CTDs was during closed beta. Hopefully a hotpach can sort this out. Game is unplayable for me atm.

It's not entirely solved. I just had a complete game freeze No crash dump

I lined up behind an atlas to kill him and got frozen in a black screen. Hitting him with 2ml an er ppc and 2 ac5s at the same time.

Think you may be onto something here, I almost exclusively only experience the Crash To Mechbay/Desktop when I am using my Catapult or firing LRM's
Most of the time I have the same experience I fire a volley of LRM's I'm holding my reticle over the target just as the missiles impact or about to impact I will experience the crash
