After the Patch all of my 3 begun matches freezed. I tried to simplify the graphics both in drvers and ingame, no luck. I'll try to dismount my LRMs now and see how it works, although it is probably a general problem with missilles flying around or impact.

EDIT: No single LRM anymore on my Stalker, 4 matches in a row without a crash. Exactly: absolutely no crash.

I've CTD'd with just the trial mechs so I'm not sure that it's an LRM issue entirely. I 've tied up 3 mechs tonight in game because of crashes during or just after completing the launch into the match. This last patch is causing some sever instability.

Despite the hotfix this game remains bug ridden and crash tastic. It's frustrating as hell to play.

At random, I continue to crash out of a game and back to the main screen (home, mech lab, pilot lab, etc). I have been having this issue for months now, and I'm finally fed up with it. So, here is ALL THE INFO I could find to HELP (WHOEVER IT CONCERNS) FIX THIS EXTREMELY ANNOYING .........BEEEEEEEPPPPP.......issue. That is all. Thank you!

Please attempt to respond to the following questions in your responses:
  • Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which?
No. One SECOND I can be fighting 1 or more mechs, moving, turning my torso and/or legs, and etc. Without warning or indication, I drop out of game and my mech (obviously) remains in-game. Ironically, this always seems to happen when I'm kickin *** and winning....can you image my frustration and fury?
  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur?
There is no exact location. It happens within a game match. It happens randomly. I've noticed no specific pattern, and it does not seem to matter what I'm doing or not doing within the game match. It just HAPPENS, and it does so RANDOMLY.
  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
I've tried restarting the whole damn MWO game client. It still ends up occuring, and usually within the first 10 matches I try to play.


Oh, and I've even tried UNINSTALLING the whole damn MWO client/game. Reboot computer, and then REDOWNLOAD the LATEST and NEWEST version of the client. I then proceed with a fresh install, and I let it install to the default directory. This does NOT fix the problem/issue.
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
It happens no matter what I've tried to do. Among many things I've tried, I did try playing the game on the LOW-VERY HIGH graphical settings....no matter what I set it to, the random drop out of a game match still occurs. Sigh.....(I know I know ...it's beta...)
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
See above. And....short version: I have 2x nVidia GTX 670 SLI. I CANNOT run MWO in SLI mode what-so-ever. Attempts to do so crash the game back to desktop. The game/client simply will NOT load. That said, I have configured thru the nVIDIA control panel to run the MWO client in SINGLE GPU. And yes, I have Ambient Occlusion set to : OFF . No manual settings have been introduced thru the nVidia control panel. I've left them at default (save changing default Texture filtering - Quality to: High quality vs. Quality).
  • What are your System specs?

Stability is good - Texture Bugs, IFF and Target Marker Bugs, Map Bugs, Hud Bugs running rampant.

With the new CTD fix my crash rate is GREATLY reduced, how ever a new crash that not common is happening. I used to crash to client (mech lab) with no sure trigger that I have picked up on so far, NOW It's more common for me to Hang in the actual game itself. As in I'll be running and simply freeze. Attempted waiting the freeze out, no luck so far.

The lout BEEEEEP is a killer too. new to me with the latest patch.


Once again post the crash patch I have seen a great improvement in stability, going from 10 crashes every two hours or so to 1 every 5... ish. (all numbers aprox.)
  • No error message was provided (due to the fact that after Aprox 60 sec of waiting Used ALF-F4)
  • Crashed in the game itself (seems to happen during movement input, not enough testing to confirm this yet)
  • Prior to the crash a lot of input from keyboard/mouse due to piloting a light in a brawl, nothing special besides that
  • Had a lot of difficulty reproducing the crash, HOWEVER, it does seem to reoccur repeatedly (I will crash 4 or so games in a row)
  • Settings did not change sense the last patch and are as follows:

Didn't crash in the menus. It crashed in game.

Just launching and attempting to play a game. It crashed 11 seconds into a match.
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
This is the second time it has happened, but there's no real way to replicate it. The crash happened on different maps. This one was on the new snow level.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
Video settings in game are maxed out and have not changed since patch.
  • What are your System specs? (You can include them in a

To clarify, the game did not CTD or CTmenu. It simply ceased functioning. I heard noise in the game, but it was on loop. The screen stopped moving and appeared to freeze. Attempts to restore it and resume the game were useless.

I saw the escapist in game today and was stalking him and the game froze on me and crashed as I was about to unload into his backside. ....makes me sad.

If he reviews the game in the current circumstances PGI is doomed.

It's pretty much unplayable for me right now. I just tried 10 matches, 7 of them resulted in me being kicked to the main menu, the other 2 resulted in a client freeze. It was odd freezes too, the video stopped but the audio kept going, I could hear the match playing out each time. Was able to Ctrl+Alt+Del,(which seems to close the client when its frozen) and restart, but have only been able to complete 1 of a full ten tries for a match tonight. Was much better pre-patch, even with the CTDs, I could at least get through some matches.

No error messages.

Occurs at any random point during a match.

The crash occurred in several different mechs and I can't think of anything I might have been doing in each of them prior to a crash to menu or freeze, with the possible exception of holding the W key and moving the mouse around.

Video setting are default very high and have not been changed since the last patch, aside from being set back to very high after running the repair tool.

Win7 x64, 8GB RAM, nVidia 560Ti 2GB

It's happening since april patch (which i dont remember).
No error messages, video settings same (all minimal)
1 of 10 games or first 1-3 games my client frezzes, but in task manager process's status "working", CPU usage 0-2% and memory starts to grow ~250 KB/sec (from 850 mb in memory up to... infinite).

Athlon x2 6000+
6 GB DDR2
GeForce 260 GTX
Win 7 x64

Btw, game runs on 15-25 fps on minimals... it's very sad.

Played 20 games np. Took my C-1 with LRMs, hard freeze with sound looping again. Every, single, time. Look into missiles please.

I was mostly OK on missiles yesterday. Today, 4 of 4 attemtped games, things freeze, some sound is heard, and the game locks up. Definitely some was timed after my firing LRMs. One was on a mech with no LRMs.

I ran the repair tool after the 3rd game, today. The fourth still crashed. I have changed nothing about my system since it was working more reliably this past weekend.

Mechwarrior online has stopped working. No crashdump.


Good luck running that one down. I suspect your terrible network code is to blame.

UPDATE OF INTEREST

I was getting about 50% crash rate.. I made teh change from 1 ac20 and 1 gauss.. to 2 gausss, and just playied about 5 in a row, no issues.. so it might be ac20 related .... it was teh only change I think I made ... good luck.

Hi Devs,

Since the hot fix i have found things in general to be more stable, not as many ppl crashing on entry. Personally I have noticed a severe drop in frame rate at the mech startup proceedure is a precursor to bugs namely no hud, no IFF, no mini map even after the fix, i thought that I might try capture this with fraps, to my dismay I start fraps running just before I hit launch, it loads gets to the black screen before drop and BOOM crash to desktop. I have tested this several times with no changes to any settings and 100% crash, if I start fraps when in game, no problem
